When I was 30 or so; I thought that the Bible said that, where there are 2 christians gathered together in my name; I will hear their prayer; but I was only one and had no other to pray with; and now , I am also by my self; and I have no-one to pray with; but I know that He hears my prayers because He taught me; and I think that the Bible confirms that He do hear the prayers of one; but He is concerned when a christian can not find another christian to pray with. There may be many christians who have no one to pray with; but please pray if you want to, directly to your Heavenly Father as I can assure you that He hears all prayers directed to Him.

Jayden, I always look at the Bible as a whole: yes, even in its time span of thousand of years, with people with almost unpronounceable names, living in parts of the world that we hardly can place now. You know what I see in all this? I see myself. I see that those people in those olden times had the same feelings & difficulties in life that I go through. They still had laws to follow & they still had to live with the dictates of their own conscience. Some were rich, others in dire poverty. Some were very religious worshipping God, others made their own gods (idols). Some tried to do good for others, but then some accused them of doing evil & tried to hurt them. So, I see the Bible as not only the history of the world (which often you can't read about from books in the library), but also a mirror which shows me, my life, my struggles, my needs and of course, how far I had gone away from the God Who made me and loved me.

If you are wondering whether to open this Book from God & do what He says, I urge you to begin reading (maybe start with Genesis to learn about the Creator God & his chosen people, Israel. In Genesis, you will find how the first man & woman disobeyed God & became sinners. That sin nature we now all have which was passed down to us. God could have wiped us out forever, but His Love for us prevented Him doing this. He saw that man couldn't obey His Law perfectly to get right with Him, so He came Himself to this Earth, in the person of Jesus Christ, His Son, to give His Life on our behalf as payment for our sins. This was such great love, that God would save us & satisfy His Anger to sin, to promise us eternal life ( John 3:16). To those who hear His Message & repent of their sins through Jesus Christ, are promised to receive His Spirit & new life. How do we respond? We love Him more for what He has done & want to please Him in our lives.

So to read the Bible & do what God says is what every child of God wants to do. So it is very important for you.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

That seems to be straight forward. He made beast like beast are ie after their kind etc. He made them all like they are and or could have been if we had to stay in the Garden of Eden; and in regard to angels; He made the Heaven and earth; and Angels are a product of Heaven. We are a product of earth, that was given a living soul.

It says that God made the moon but it does not say it is its' own light source, but we know that the moon is a reflection of the sun and whether or not you think that God should have mentioned that is up to you as we have that freedom; however; I don't think that he needed to mention it as He even knew we would discover it.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

    I would think so as

    16And

God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

So that would be the sun to rule the day; and the moon to rule the night created on the 4th day and he made the stars also

Genesis means "beginning". This book describes the creation of the universe, the origin of mankind, the sin and suffering of the world, and God's way of dealing with mankind. Genesis can be divided into two main parts.

    1. chapters 1-11: Creation of the world and the first story of mankind.

    2. chapters 12-50: The history of the ancestors of Israel.

It begins with the affirmation that God created the universe, and ends with a promise that God will continue to show his concern for his people.

To record the history of the faith of a nation and to keep this faith alive.

Hi Tom, thanks for your question & as you can imagine, different folk have their own interpretations on this chapter in Daniel 9. As well, I'm unsure whether you have grasped the whole context of the chapter in relation to Daniel & his encounter with the angel Gabriel & the vision. So, if I could briefly state here:

Daniel was aware of the prophet Jeremiah's prophecy on the coming desolation of Jerusalem ( Jer 25:11-12, 29:10-14) & Israel's return to Palestine. But there would be a time in the future when Jerusalem would be rebuilt, the Messiah would come & give His Life as prophesied, & after that (under Roman rule), in AD 70, Titus, the Emperor, would march into Jerusalem & destroy it & the Temple.

So verse 26, directly refers to this time of the destruction of Jerusalem, when "the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood (not water, but the appearance of a flood of warriors), and unto the end of the war (Jewish-Roman wars of AD 66 - 135), desolations are determined."

However, this reference to Titus & his army has its anti-type in the future Anti-Christ (possibly out of a rebuilt Roman Empire), as verse 27 implies (giving a description of Anti-Christ's behaviour with the Jews & his desecration of the rebuilt Temple). I have written briefly here, mindful that there are various interpretations to this passage from others who are better studied than me, & as well, I've not given the meaning & breakdown of the "weeks" of time mentioned in this passage as you may well be familiar with their meaning. I hope this helps in your understanding.

Sheltering at home, keeping it sanitized (car too), leave shoes at the front door,

Wear bandanas or face masks outside. Do not touch your eyes, nose, mouth or face with hands.

Wash clothes that have been outside around coughing people.

    Wash hands often.

Wash fresh fruits & vegetables with soapy water; rinse and cover It.

This is working for a lot of people.

It is constraining, miserable, lonely, but it has to be done. Take responsibility for yourself and loved ones.

Pray over your food for snacks, sneaks and meals. Ask the Lord to bless and sanctify the food and make it holy for consumption.

Pray the Lord's Prayer that Jesus taught to us. Thank God in Jesus name :)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

I find that amazing that the heaven and the earth was created from the beginning even before light; And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

The Heaven and earth were created on the first day along with light. I mean it is amazing that would be created on the first day; but when I think about it; if I was God; that is what I would have done as that to me seems the natural order of things when there is a God. At what other point could you have created Heaven. Surely it would not be an after thought; and yet thinking like a man; I have read that so many times and just considered it natural without thinking about it; but lately I did and i thought so wonderful and even a proof of his existence if indeed someone was looking for such proof. I just love reading it as it sounds wonderful. Genesis 1 and 2; I think is my favourites; as I am not much of a reader and all those generations confuses me; although I do like other parts of Genesis, the flood; cities that were destroyed, confusing the language etc.

The fullness of time has come for me to ask you "Who is in charge of your life, God or Satan? Don't be deceived, know that it is God except you want to turn the hand of the clock anticlockwise, then be prepared to in cure the wrath of God if you don't fear this glorious and awesome name" THE LORD YOUR GOD "then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues, prolonged plagues -and serious and prolonged sickness ( Deuteronomy 28:58-59 NKJV). Mankind has always taken God for a ride, but do you know why some persons are afraid of this Corona Virus Disease. (COVID 19) pandemic, which God has set to expose the dilapidation and the infrastructural decay of the health sector in my country, Nigeria, due to bad government that had institutionalized corruption, but are not only being exposed today, but they are now being restricted from going abroad for medical vacation, as they are now forced to their vomit, though men are not afraid of God Almighty who is the initiator of both the good and evil, Who make peace and create calamity ( Isaiah 45:7), Who has also promised to you, " To bring on you all the diseases of Egypt, or which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written on this book of the Law" ( Deuteronomy 28:60-61NKJV) The fear of COVID 19, NOW in Nigeria, is the acceptance of God Almighty.

Daniel 9:26 says the prince shall come and in the end the city and Sanctuary will be with a flood. Can you clarify this for me?
  • Samson Samuel - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Hi Shannon, I believe that you have thirst for Truth. Perhaps my answer will trigger more questions than answers but this is a healthy sign actually. Answering Gen 1:27. This is a very common mistake that people make that they think that the creation in Eve in Chapter 2 happening outside of the original 6 days of creation. But in reality if you notice there is a pattern that God is working with. 1st day is corresponding to the 4th day, 5th day is furtherance of 2nd day and the 3rd day is further improved on in 6th day. It would be safe to say that each of these corresponding days match each other with relevant creation. For example God created light in the first day and then made sources of light.

Same way Chapter 2 is actually the partial details of 3rd and 6th day. Gen 1:27 nowhere says how did God create them i.e out of dust, plants, or magic. Then Gen 2:7 then clarifies how did God created the man and women mentioned in Gen 1:27. Genesis Chapter 2 is actually details of creation of 6th day and not outside the original creation.

The legend of Lilith is actually part of Plan of prince of the air. He always introduces confusion and alternative stance to confuse. That is why Word of God titles him as father of lies and confusion. Paul clearly says that our fight is not of blood and flesh in Eph. 6:12. This confusion is part of the battle.

Angeline, With respect to keeping the Sabbath, what were the requirements? What is your take on statements that seem to say it doesn't matter if you keep the Sabbath?

    Mark 2:27

Then Jesus declared, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

    Mark 7:19

because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated." (Thus all foods are clean.)

    Romans 14:3

For one person has faith to eat all things, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not belittle the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted him.

    Romans 14:5

One man regards a certain day above the others, while someone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God.

    Romans 14:17

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

    Galatians 4:10

But now that you know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you are turning back to those weak and worthless principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years!

    Colossians 2:20

If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations: These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.

    1 Timothy 4:3

They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

    Hebrews 9:10

They consist only in food and drink and special washings--external regulations imposed until the time of reform.

    Hi brother, Greetings to you!

This is with regards to your comment on the Sabbath. Right from the creation, God has set apart one day as the Holy Day, A day of rest. He sanctified the Sabbath day, which is the seventh day of the week and not any other day or all the days of the week. We can also see from the commandments written by God Himself to Remember to keep the Sabbath Day Holy; Six days you shall work but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord Thy God( Exodus 20:8-11); It is a covenant sign between God and His Children( Ezekiel 20:20).

However, most of our Fellow Christian friends worship God on the first day of the week, which is merely man made and that day has neither been considered as a day to worship nor God has changed the day of worship from Saturday, the 7th day of the week to Sunday, the first day of the week.

Jesus, while He lived on this earth, kept the Sabbath and went to the church on Sabbath days as His custom was( Luke 4:16). Jesus even said, in Matthew 5:17 that He has not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill. Jesus also said, if you love Me, keep My commandments( John 14:15). So, its very plain and simple, if you love Jesus, Keep His commandments.

As we live in the last days, there is going to be a time where we all are going to face a testing time with regards to the day of worship. All the end time prophecies as mentioned in the book of Revelation are fulfilling and soon, Sunday law is going to be enforced globally. The Question is whether we are obedient to God's law by observing the Bible Sabbath or following the man made commandments( Revelation 14:12) These are explained definitely not to scare anyone; but the Scripture says, Whoever obeys His words are going to receive the seal of God and the others the mark of the Beast.

The beautiful part is, we are going to observe Sabbaths in Heaven as well!( Isaiah 66:23). So, why don't we start right here on earth! May the Holy Spirit lead you to His truth. Amen.

It seems to me that in chapter 1, YHWH is giving a summary of all things He created. Then in chapter 2, He retells the story with more specifics and detail. Eve is the one who was created to be with Adam, but YHWH goes into more detail about how she was created in chapter 2. There is no Lilith.

But he brought up some facts about the bible and lilith and then he told her history and i got very confused on what was fact.

Shannon, the moon of course is the "lesser light" in Gen 1:16. In the old days, before astronomy progressed, the moon was probably thought of as emitting its own light. As we know, moonlight is simply the sun's light being reflected. And yes, it is still very much a light source. When I used to visit some poor villages in Pakistan to minister, they had no electricity, no lanterns or kerosene; they depended entirely on moonlight. But its amazing how well our eyes adjust to low or no light, so life goes on without complaint for those people.
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1:25 - 3 years ago
Shannon, that verse in Gen 1 can sound tricky unless you see how the pronouns are used. 'Beast' is written in the singular, thus the use of 'his kind', or its species. 'Cattle' is in plural, therefore using 'their kind; and so with 'every creeping thing' is in the singular. There is no reference or even inference that the Trinity is seen in this verse. That is altogether a false interpretation of the Scripture.

Re: your comment on Angels. Well, in Nehemiah 9:6, we read: "Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee." This of course tells us that God created all things & also the "host of Heaven". This "host", or inhabitants, would include the angels, seraphim, cherubim, & other heavenly beings. They may have been created at some point before God's creative Work was completed ( Genesis 2:1 "...all the host of them (were finished))". Satan himself was a created being, a Cherub ( Ezekiel 28:13-16): the King of Tyrus is spoken of in these verses but vv 13 & 15 indicate this was not a mere human but a reference to Satan. It speaks about God creating him & he was perfect until iniquity was found in him & thus banished from God's presence.

So, that should give you a quick explanation to your questions.

    Dear Shannon,

The best way to know what to believe is to go to the Source, the Bible, a good cross reference would do nicely. But as Bob said, is correct, there is 0 references for "Lilith"

Praying God will lead and guide you,

    Etta
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Genesis 1:27 - 3 years ago
Greetings Shannon, by no means do I believe in what I am telling you concerning a "Lilith" in Judaism.

The word Lilith appears 1 time in the King James in Isaiah 34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. (the king James translators used screech owl for Lilith)

In the Jewish encyclopedia: Lilith was the first "wife" of Adam prior to Eve, she left him cause she did not want him to be "on top" and she went to become the wife of samael. Where do they come up with this stuff? Only in the minds of certain Rabbis as it is NOT in the Bible. This is why Paul wrote in Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Wiccans (witches) revere Lilith as the queen of demons and even have festivals in her "honor"

I am not sure where you came across this name from, but I would stay away from it as it is steeped in the occult.

I came out of the new age and went to Bible college and did studies on the occult. This stuff is evil.
  • Shannon - In Reply on Genesis 1:27 - 3 years ago
I have heard of a woman named lilith! I am not going to say anything more because idk what to believe. I just submitted a question about this situation. Hopefully someone answers.
  • Shannon on Genesis 1:27 - 3 years ago
So did Adam have a wife before eve? It says here these two were created from earth. Then he talks about eve being created from adams rib...

I am just looking for some insight.

I have heard of a woman called lilith, supposed she and Adam bumped heads because they were equals. Maybe Adam killed her? But people think she remains on earth and at one point when sdam and eve are away from each other Adam has a one night stand with this lilith because it says during there time apart adam is at his worst, he is very distraught.

I don't know where it talk about this. Please understand i don't think its ok to question any of this because i don't know if I am pointing out a real honest point that most don't see, or my interpretation is off and its wrong to think this way.
  • Shannon on Genesis 1:25 - 3 years ago
The words his and their mean he has a kind. I can't think of a better word. He comes from a family or society. Idk how to put this. It is really hard to understand this. But i have been told its the trinity. I honestly don't know what to believe. It also never says he makes the angels so theye are a part if his civilization or family. They have a history.

    Thoughts???
  • Shannon on Genesis 1:16 - 3 years ago
    He says a lesser light.

    But still a light.

Why would anyone think he does not mean exactly what he says.

The moon is a light source.
