I keep reading this over and over again...

So muck here to unpack and to rely on the Holy Spirit for Wisdom.

What detail happened between verse 1 and 2?

Sun and moon was not made until the 4th day? What was source of light of first three days?

God refers to Himself as OUR

V29... seeds bringing forth their kind. How does evolution address fruit species? Oranges vs apples vs watermelon

    What do you all think?

    I'm a Bible-believing Christian and don't know how you're drawing such a false assumption.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on Genesis 1:14 - 3 years ago
Because I'm a christian. I believe everything in the bible. Seems like you are trying to disprove it

Here God makes everything good and he blesses.God's word is so powerful it creates. God's spoken word was disobeyed. The Word became flesh to save us.

    King James Bible

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. You have to be born again and be a doer of the word to bless our offenders and love the law to not be offended.

Disobedience brought down the human race. Obedience brought man back to God and in the name of Jesus you can come to God. Being a doer of the word is powerful.

Satan comes to take our eyes off the word of God and go by our carnal eyes. We need to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Matthew 22:36-40

    King James Version

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Love is powerful. God is love.

Genesis 1:2, 3: "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

In these verses, we already see the Triune God at work. 1. We have God the Creator & Sustainer of all things. 2. We also see His Spirit "moving upon the face of the waters": that part of the Godhead that went out to do a work (we are not told). 3. Then we have God speak for the creation of light: "And God said..". This is His Word that is part of Who God is. Thus we see God, as He has revealed Himself to us, as a Triune God, and if any part of that divinity was missing, He would cease to be God.

You are a trinity: a body, a soul & a spirit. If one part of your trinity was missing, you would either cease to be human, or maybe a sub-human.

God chose to send out His Word to His people Israel: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" ( Hebrews 1:1-3).

Did you catch it? God sent out His Word to Israel, then sent out His Word to us through His Son (Who also shared in His Glory, in His Image & involved in the creative Work (also see Colossians 1:15-17)). This Word was made flesh for our sakes, He gave us God's Message & then laid down His Life for us. This is God's Word declared to you - if you choose to believe what you do, then you have to deny the Truth of His Word & make your appeal to some other source.

John 20:27-29: "Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

Thomas should have been chastised severely for referring to Jesus as his Lord and his God. But He wasn't, rather Jesus accepted his declaration. We should go above & beyond the doubts that Thomas had over the Lord's deity & accept Jesus for Who He is: the Word of the Father made flesh to become the Son of the Father.

In Genesis when God said let there by light and there was light !

    That's actually Jesus ?

Sounds really crazy to me , not a hint of Jesus a little thought required.
  • Rob - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Yes Jesus was prophesied in the Old Testament and was Born of God as no other man ever and because He had sinless flesh and in complete obedience to the fathers will , not his own he was tried God manifested in the flesh . But He never said IAM God that's totally contrary to the Bible .
  • Rob - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Adam was Made a living soul

Jesus is the son of man a Quickening spirit .

Never was anyone born by God and called his Son as Jesus was in Bethlehem.

    I hope that helps .

It's written "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.." in Genesis 1:26.

We can know there's 'us' when God created man, as God said 'Let us make man in our image.'

They are spiritual group affiliation belong to God ( Revelation 4). God creates the affiliation on earth like as it is in heaven.

So true, Mishael. Yet, I always, through a medium such as this where one only sees the person's words & considers them as if genuine & searching, then one ought to give as accurate a response as possible based on Scripture & the Spirit's moving. As well, I always think of those who don't write in, but in their search for answers or in a desperate state, they might be drawn to KJB Online seeking help. I ask myself: how would it be if they only saw one comment, & then accepting that to be true, since there were no further comments or challenges to consider?

Actually, I despise being argumentative, yet for the Truth's sake, there is a clear warrant for standing up for one's beliefs & on the other side of the coin, that I too might gain some insight or understanding in a matter that I was unclear about. I have enjoyed some great 'debates' over the time, & mostly I've learned what a diverse lot we are as Christians, in how we understand the Scriptures from personal study & what we accept as Truth as coming from the pulpit or from authors. And yet, in spite of our sometimes very divergent understanding of the Scriptures, the Lord still loves us so much & I'm sure longs for that time (as we too wait) when all these 'debatable' things will be clearly understood & the hidden things revealed. Yet certain Truths must be tenaciously held onto & defended. All your comments Mishael, are appreciated, especially matters concerning the spirit world, to which most of us are sadly ignorant or even pretend don't exist. As you know, most of our activity on Earth is greatly influenced by what is unseen.

If you understand who the Father of all is and that he is the one God and father of Jesus his only son then you will understand the Bible . Jesus coming from God is certainly God manifest in the flesh .

    It's really that simple .

Many places in scriptures can be applied in many ways but false in the application this how cults form .

People that believe what you are selling are in error.

To try to convince people in error is impossible unless God through his Holy Spirit can reach them . It requires an honest effort to know the truth even if it's not popular .

I find many verses applied in error .

Just like the law of marriage it's really simple , but men have found ways to get what they want through miss applied verses .

Yes we are in dark days in the churches !

I left them long ago ! And have no regrets! I will pray for you Chris nothing personal these false teachings started with the Roman Catholic Church almost 400 yrs after the NT .

I'm with the apostles teachings , nothing more .
  • Mishael - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
I doubt that if it was all translated into Greek or Hebrew, it would convince. The Pharisees knew all of the scriptures but they still did not believe and refused to believe Jesus was the Messiah they had preached about. It would've meant that there was One greater than themselves.

Their security of income would end. It would be like telling the Pope, you're fired: the true Messiah is here. People can pray to Jesus and be forgiven now.

God knew this would happen just as it is. If He wrote on the sky with His finger, they would denounce it; call it a lying wonder.

The evangelist in my spirit says that there are still many who Will believe Jesus is who scripture says He is. Over 100 scriptures were fulfilled on the event of Jesus's crucifixion. Those odds alone prove He is who scripture says He is.

There's an ocean of people who will believe. If people are stubborn resistant, it tells me that the Holy Spirit is not drawing those people. They need prayer and fasting. We can say a prayer for them and ask Jesus to draw them on cords of love.

You feel like giving up till you remember how Jesus ministered. He cast out the devils and then the person is healed and in their right mind.

Be at peace that you always give it your best effort; then move along to those who are Ready to hear Truth.

The Lord bless and keep you, Chris.

Rob, there is an abundance of evidence of Jesus' Life & Form prior to His incarnation. How then do you understand one of the first references I shared, John 1:1-14? Everything we need to know about Jesus is there in those verses: His very Nature as the Word of God, His part in God's creative work, & His absolute divinity being set aside (in part) so that He could become Man, a Servant, for our sake.

We would have to reject Scripture as our authority or at least find multiple flaws in them, to be persuaded that the Christ of the NT is simply a created Holy Being. Even the JWs are pressed to use another word in Colossians 1:15 for 'firstborn' = 'prototokos' to read 'first created' = 'protokitises' to support their belief as you subscribe to. So, we can do whatever we want with Scriptures if we're so inclined, yet the proofs are before us all.

Great verses Bendito. The Lord gave me John 8:58 this morning & then I found your comment confirming the preciousness of that Scripture. Even the Lord's use of "I am" should give us a clear instance of Jesus' declaration of divinity.
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
A couple of great pertinent verses that you have given, Richard. There's certainly an abundance of proofs of our Lord's Divinity. Thank you.

    Speaking of Jesus:

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. ( Micah 5:2)

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. ( John 8:58)

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? ( John 14:9)

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. ( 2 Corinthians 5:19)

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. ( Colossians 1:14-17)

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. ( Colossians 2:8-9)
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Here's a couple verses I found pertaining to this. As with the others you posted.

John 3:13 "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

John 6:38-39 "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."

There may be more. Hope this helps a little. God Bless.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem by The Spirit of God .

That's all there is to it .

What does born mean ? Beginning

Because Jesus was born of God like no one before him , He Knows God like no other man , so yes he could say he came from God because he was born of God . He that is of God was before creation because God is . But Jesus Identity as Jesus the Christ began in Bethlehem. To separate Jesus from who is is wrong , you cannot have a spiritualized Jesus and a Jesus in the flesh . It's one or the other .

I except the biblical Jesus as the true Jesus , clearly seen in Luke 1 and other places .

The whole deity doctrine is unbiblical . I don't want that Jesus Jesus of Nazareth the Son of God approved by God is good enough for me . Praise the lord !

That's an interesting question, Mishael, but I'm unsure whether all the words that Rob requested can be found in a single verse. I'm was also thinking of John 17:5, 6; Philippians 2:6-8; Galatians 4:4; Isaiah 9:6, 7; plus John 1:1-14 quoted earlier. Hopefully, you can add further to this. In any case, from the abundance of Scriptures we have, it's not hard to discern Who Jesus is, the one & the same, both pre-incarnate & as a Man.
  • Rob - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
Jesus declared God because he was born of God and knows God as no other man .

As you mentioned the word said no man has seen God , that's excellent !

Yes Jesus declaration is when he was here on earth .

Why was Jesus more than the greatest of the prophets , John the Baptist ? And he is !

The answer because Jesus was the only Son God ever by Birth !

All others in the past including John the Baptist where not Born as Jesus was in Bethlehem, so simple yet true .

God verified that Jesus is his Son can any one dispute this and when it occurred?

The answer is Bethlehem is where and when , Jesus is the Christ born of God sent to save the world by Gods love .

So much more can be said .

Don't spiritualize Jesus beyond the scriptures.

John 1:18: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Would this be a declaration of Jesus' pre-incarnate Being in Heaven & then sent forth to the Earth as God's only begotten Son in the flesh?

But to find the words: 'Jesus born in Bethlehem was first with God in Heaven' isn't given except the Scriptures I've given earlier. So are you saying that the Jesus on Earth was never the Word of God in Heaven simply because there's no word-for-word depiction of this Truth? Or maybe, I've misunderstood you altogether.

God, Jesus and all the holy angels is us.
  • Rob - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 3 years ago
If you have a verse that proves Jesus Born in Bethlehem was in heaven before then you have a valid point , but He must have flesh or you are taking about another Jesus that is identified by Name born in Bethlehem. Show a identity using the name Jesus or you have some other form of Christ .

The true Christ is come in the flesh not some spiritualized Christ . 1 John chapter 4 1,2,3,4

Be careful you don't believe in another Christ
