Wesley's Notes for Galatians 6:2

6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens - Sympathize with, and assist, each other, in all your weaknesses, grievances, trials. And so fulfil the law of Christ - The law of Christ (an uncommon expression) is the law of love: this our Lord peculiarly recommends; this he makes the distinguishing mark of his disciples.

Discussion for Galatians 6:2

  • Rev prof Eteng for verse 2
We must in demonstration of the love of God help the other person in distress but that person must take responsibility to work with his hands to provide for his family another man can not bear the responsibility of his own family for him
  • Tim George for verse 2
Bear ye one another 's burdens, and fulfill the law of Christ as compared to let every man bear his own burdens. We all have burdens to bear in life, and some of them we can assist others, and by so doing we fulfill the law of Christ. But every man has the burden of providing for his family, and that burden he must bear alone. Paul said if a man does not provide for his family, he has denied the faith, and is worst than an infidel. So let us pray to God to show us how to bear one another 's burdens, and how to encourage others to bear the burden of providing for his family.
