Israel futurist have to deal with these verses, they try to spiritualize them and say they are referring to false believers but that's not what the scriptures say.. it says Jews referring to racial Hebrew Jewish Israelites

    Ezekiel 37:1-14

This is the vision that Ezekiel was given referred to as The Valley of Dry Bones.

Verse 11 clearly states that the vision included the WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. What this says to me is that God intends to resurrect ALL JEWS.

Verse 14 says the God will PUT HIS SPIRIT IN THEM. This says that the Holy Spirit will enter into them.

So, the vision says that ALL (The Whole House of Israel) will not only be resurrected, but also given the Holy Spirit. Their sins will/are forgiven and have life just because of their race. Not by a choice.

I doesn't seem that the Jews inherit everlasting life through faith. It says that God will save them ALL. Perhaps only Gentiles receive salvation "Through faith alone by Grace alone".

God says " I will have mercy on whoever I wish" (my paraphrase). So, since Jesus paid the sin debt of all humanity, God is also JUST to declare the Whole House of Israel righteous.

    (This includes Judas Iscariot).

I have never been taught this interpretation of this vision but it appears cut and dried to me.

I've been taught that this is prophetically speaking that the nation of Israel will be drawn from the 4 corners of the earth and become a nation, but the vision speaks of God raising the whole house from their graves!

So, my entire statement is out there for comments. I'm open.

I hate that too . I would rather someone used an actual curse word than use God or Jesus as a curse word . I try hard not to get annoyed with people though . I realise that a lot of people say things out of habit and hardly even realise what they are saying or that they are saying something offensive . I still does make me cringe every time though .

I have always thought that it means not professing to be a Christian when you aren't one really . I know many people who , if you asked them what their religion is , they would say they are Christians but if you ask them a couple of very basic questions about their faith they wouldn't be able to answer you . Obviously in the old testament it means something slightly different , somewhere in there it says that he is not a Jew that is a Jew outwardly , we have to remember that God and Jesus know each of us intimately , we can't fool them . They know if we are really Christians , they look straight into our hearts .We can fool other people but we cannot fool our God or our Saviour . I think it's about pretending to be something that you are not .

It's saying the name of God in a disrespectul manner. I like watching Ray Comfort videos of his street evangelism and he always asks, would you use your parents' name as a cuss word? Most everyone says no, yet admits to using God's name in vain which is insulting to God and a violation of the 3rd of the 10 commandments. It's sad that in this society its difficult to escape hearing it everywhere and when your brain hears something tens of thousands of times it has an effect. God bless.

What does , thou shalt not use the lords name in vain, mean. Thank you.
  • Chris - In Reply on Ezekiel 37 - 2 years ago
Hi Babatope. No. Ezekiel was a contemporary of the prophet Jeremiah. He was taken with the other hostages into captivity in Babylon & his ministry was to those with him in captivity. Jeremiah in the meanwhile, ministered to the Jews in Palestine.

So Ezekiel was around approximately 400 years after King David took the throne. Therefore Ezekiel 37:24's reference to "David my servant" can only apply to the One who would come after David, in the same family line as David, & would eventually fulfill the rest of that Scripture: "(he) shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them."

As King David came through the line of Judah, so would the coming King be of that lineage & will not only be King, but also the "Great Shepherd of the sheep", both to the houses of Judah, Israel & also the Gentiles who are saved. And Isaiah 11:1-5 and Jeremiah 23:5,6 speak of this coming One out of Jesse & David - and His Name of course, is Jesus.
  • Babatope on Ezekiel 37 - 2 years ago
My question is in Ezekiel 37 vs 24. And David my servant shall be king over them, and they all shall have one shepherd. Does this means that prophet Ezekiel was before king David?

Assuming that your coded word can mean, 'reference' (to the end of time), we cannot be sure about Damascus' situation in the last days. Isaiah 17:1 declares that Damascus will be destroyed & verse 3 links it to Ephraim. This prophecy was fulfilled in c. 732 BC when the Assyrians attacked the city of Aram (see 2 Kings 16:5-9 for this account): King Ahaz of Judah sent messengers to the King of Assyria for help & deliverance from the invasion by the King of Syria (at Aram). The Assyrian king complied, attacked Damascus & captured it. And the King of Aram (Rezin) was subsequently killed.

So in one sense the destruction of Damascus was completed, but we know that Damascus was later rebuilt & became quite an influential city in New Testament times, becoming a flourishing major cultural centre with numerous synagogues and a large Jewish community. So there is no more destruction foretold of the city in the Bible, but one could expect that it would figure in the last days as the Anti-Christ sets up his throne in Jerusalem & that whole region will be subservient to him or else face his wrath. Though certainly that region, along with Damascus will suffer under God's Anger in the days of the Great Tribulation. In that case, the prophecy against Damascus is yet to see its ultimate fulfilment.

The destruction of Damascus, would it be a point of trfrtrncr to the rnd of time, when Christ shall appear again?

    We Gentiles are IN.

    The Jews are OUT.

They've been spiritually blinded and made spiritually deaf. They are unable to perceive it.

It will probably be that way until the caught up occurs.

They are being exposed to Messianic Jewish Christians. Jews returning to Israel: many say that they are Jewish believers in Jesus Christ.

We are not the Lambs Book of Life Inspectors. This is a work of faith and obedience.

If they haven't prayed the prayer; they are subject to the tribulation. Plus the blindness and deafness will have been lifted.

I don't struggle with this in my heart. I pray for the Peace of Jerusalem as ordered by God. Simple obedience. What He does with those prayers are His business.

What is the Bible definition of an antichrist and who fits the description.

1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist, if they believed in Jesus then they would be CHRISTIANS. IF you do not believe me call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah.)

1 John 2:23 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

If Jews do not accept Jesus as messiah, then who is their messiah?

1 Corinthians 16:22 - If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (CURSED) Maranatha.

DO JEWS LOVE JESUS OR ARE THEY CURSED?
  • Mishael - In Reply on Ezekiel 37:22 - 3 years ago
Israel will not give up their land.

However, Antichrist will advance to kill them all and they will flee.

    Then Jesus's 2nd Coming.

Where does it speak of another nation speaking another language taking over Israel in the last days ?
  • Chris - In Reply on Ezekiel 37 - 3 years ago
That is true, many Churches tend to bypass, & some even rejecting, the Old Testament as history applying to the Jewish people & of no consequence to us in the Church age. What are some of these erroneous 'modern doctrines' you speak of?
  • Elder Herman Broxton on Ezekiel 37 - 3 years ago
Why do some churches interpret the New Testament without the Old Testament and create modern doctrines that are in error? They put Paul and Jesus against God and the prophets. That is division.

So many years ago my birth took place and I was circumcised in the heart. I read some history about when the Romans came in in 70 AD destroy their Temple as the Messiah prophesize. Shutting off all sacrifice and works as the high priest build up on the hill saddle on a donkey with his companion and he said to the rabbi what shall we do now in the rain by explain to him our good works well then, My Sacrifice good works without the spirit and the nature of the Messiah working through you because you're a one with him and he's one with you is simply commendable that's for sure but it's dead works that made me understand the Veil set became over the Jewish people for centuries they been taught .
  • Albert Knitht on Ezekiel 37 - 3 years ago
I find your commentary interesting interpretation ninety-nine point I can understand that stick together. Saint Paul cases one new man in the New Testament he speaking about this prophecy circumcised in the heart said accepted the Messiah and the universal law. I am at you 40 years old in my new birth

We read how at the Great White Throne all shall stand before the KING for judgment, and it says that the books will be opened, and the book of Life. We read about how in the world to come the Saints will be in charge of the government of the world under Christ. Who are the Nations of the saved? Ezekiel 16:53-63 suggests that all Nations shall be restored to their former estate; minus the wicked.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 37 - 6 years ago
"...Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" The Day of the LORD shall be the commencement of the Regeneration, when the Lord Jesus Christ shall sit on the throne of His glory. In that day Israel shall say, Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the LORD; and in that day shall they repent and be converted with weeping and crying all over the Country and for ever changed!
  • The Great ELDER on Ezekiel 37 - 6 years ago
