The LORD GOD is praised and magnified in everything HE does. Let us worship HIM in truth and in spirit.

    John 4:24

GOD bless everyone on this forum, may we go forth as an army, and carry out HIS commandments for HIS glory.

Happy New Year, brethren! May we be spiritually prosperous as we await the coming of our LORD in the clouds.

The LORD has declared our works as evil and unrighteous. We have only one of two choices before us. Disagree with GOD, and go through the pain and sufferings HE has promised unto those who reject HIS truths; or we can agree with our LORD and confess, repent, and renew our walk with HIM.

How we react to the LORD'S pointing out our sins and iniquities will determine our future blessings in HIM.

Our nation is in dire need of the LORD'S wisdom. Let we who are saved and active in the work of our SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST be like Daniel and pray diligently and faithfully. Let us show the power of the LORD in everything we do in HIS name.

GOD to shine HIS face on all who are obedient and faithful to HIM. HIS glorious blessings are available to all who trust and obey in HIS word.

Praise the LORD for the faithfulness of the brethren on this forum.

The King James Bible is God's preserved word in the English language. So the whole bible is God's words. The bible is a difficult book. Every verse of scripture has 3 applications, 1) Historical, 2) Inspirational, 3) Doctrinal. Chapter 23 is an allegory of Jeursalem's and Samaria's unfaithfulness.

Book of John, Jesus is the Light

1 In the beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (People not born again yet)

I believe you are asking if this is the same WORD in John 1:19Logos) ? who became flesh? If you notice the W in Joh. 1:1 is capitalized giving credence that it indeed is JESUS. The word (Heb. dabar) in Ezekiel is not; so if your question is are the same then no.

Yes Mohammad, Ezekiel chapter 23 is the Word of God. I realize that it comes to us as an awful picture of wickedness but it was a message that God gave to His prophet Ezekiel to declare.

I can't give you a full commentary of this chapter, but to state, that it is an allegory (an allegory is when particular names are given, but are representative of the actual people & the actual message which it conveys). This chapter is a warning to two 'sisters' (Samaria, representing the Northern Kingdom: Israel) and Jerusalem (representing the Southern Kingdom: Judah).

Verses 1-10: describe the unfaithfulness & punishment of Aholah (Samaria). Verses 11-21: the unfaithfulness of Aholibah (Jerusalem). Verses 22-35: Jerusalem's punishment. And verses 36-49: also describe the united punishment of the two sisters (Samaria & Jerusalem). I hope this brief outline will help you understand the grievousness of their sins which demands punishment and NOT to read it as some ugly lewd description of human sensuality.

In the first year that I read the Bible I read it seven times , I've been reading it every day for twenty seven years and I'm still learning new things from it , that's just part of the joy of it . The Bible teaches us this : if you think you know everything......every time it teaches me that I don't ! I don't think I will in this life . Keep at it , and witches aren't real , some of them think they are but most of them know that none of them are real , ' be it into you as you have believed ' .

Hi Andre, that's great that you've read the whole Bible. Just because you don't remember a verse doesn't mean the Bible is automatically corrupted, however. Many others have read this too and would agree it hasn't changed. God's word I believe is alive. We likely won't comprehend everything the first read and often the next time through we learn something new. Sometimes the holy spirit may show you something. Also, this website has the original printing of the KJV to compare to the current one and the meaning is the same. God bless.

I read the entire bible front to back, started in 1999 and finished in 2001. Then started again.Took me 3 years the second time. I NEVER READ THIS VERSE BEFORE IN MY LIFE NOR REMEMBER THIS PART IN THE BIBLE. Our "holy" book has been tampered with by witches.

This chapter is so full of shock and awe metaphors that we all should carefully search our own lives to see what we value higher than God. We may have our own idols that we are not aware of. The Israelites believed themselves to be righteous. But as God reveals in Is. 55:9, his ways and thoughts are much higher than ours. It may be time to revaluate our priorities before it's too late.
  • Gary Olsen on Ezekiel 23 - 4 years ago
In verses 25 and 27, God really reveals his rage. Because the Israelites were like wild asses in the wilderness snuffing up the wind in search of a new idol to bow down to ( Jer. 2:24), he would take away their nose and ears and eyes. In other words, they would be so devastated by the armies sent against them, that their idolatry would be destroyed with them.
  • Gary Olsen on Ezekiel 23 - 4 years ago
God had revealed himself to his people through his servants like Moses; but still they brought the idolatry of Egypt with them to the land that God had promised to them. And they took up new gods from the people of the lands around them. In verses 22-24, God's punishment for their idolatrous practices was to bring all of their lovers or the people they practiced idolatry with against them.
  • Gary Olsen on Ezekiel 23 - 4 years ago
This chapter is about the Israelites practicing idolatry with people of other lands. In verse 20, God calls the Egyptians their paramours whose flesh is as the flesh of asses and whose issue is like the issue of horses which means that their natures and attitudes were that of dumb animals because they had no understanding ( Psalm 32:9) or knowledge of the true God.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 23 - 6 years ago
We often hear preachers and pastors using a kind of style in their expounding of doctrine, that throws a blanket indiscriminately over "all of us" with respect to EVERY evil and its judgment. But the LORD answered Elijah very plainly, "I have 7000 who HAVE NOT bowed the knee to Baal, nor kissed its image!" The disciples did NOT crucify the Lord Jesus, but the traitor delivered Him to His enemies!
  • Obbie Beal on Ezekiel 23 - 6 years ago
2017, we the people (as a whole) refuse to accept the facts that this chapter is all nations of the world doing exactly what GOD describe in this chapter, therefore GOD's judjement has already started (we donot see it) and any miniute of the hour it will enter our kitichen... nothing but the BLOOD Of JESUS will... Ready or not the hour is come like 8 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, it must come to past.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 23 - 6 years ago
This is a very hard look at the uncleanness and lewdness of a heart departed from the LORD, and given over to its vile lusts. God sees it for what it really is; and exposes it as such for us to also know and avoid! This disgusting treachery was committed by a Nation who was Called and Chosen above all others to be God's People of Holy Covenant, and Ambassadors of Truth and Salvation to the world.

Verse 9: The ten-tribe kingdom of Samaria looked to Assyria for protection instead of looking to Jehovah God. They made a terrible mistake because later the Assyrians turned on them and became their persecutors.

It now is clear to me. In this example of what purity there is in marriage. A pure example of The virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Christ is one with the father using the words of the Old Testament.

I 've always been curious about these verses. Does it mean that any time a woman 's breast is fondled she is committing a whoredom? Were these women married to someone else and that 's why? And what about actresses. Even in some pg movies there are scenes where a woman lets a man touch her breast. Does this mean the actress is committing a whoredom?
  • Connie on Ezekiel 23 - 11 years ago
I agree with Jan and Eric. God uses analogies in His writings so that we can relate to how He feels. I think you are both right on. Israel has come a long way from the traditions that they were taught in the Old Testament. They are sinners just like everyone else and have to repent, just like the Gentiles.
  • Mary on Ezekiel 23:37 - 11 years ago
Ezekiel 23:37 speaks of adultery. People often wonder "does adultery only apply to marriage?". Yes, adultery does refer to someone who is married and puts away the spouse and all that, but this same principle also applies in a single person's life. In short: a married person is married and is exclusive to their spouse. A single person is exclusive to God (remaining pure) until married then that person is exclusive to the spouse. One's relationship to God is the most important thing to establish before even thinking about a relationship. 1 Chronicles 11:16 is a good memory verse. So in summary: a married person is married and remains exclusive to the spouse and a single person is God's child and stays pure so that the future relationship God has planned for that person will be wonderful and all that God had intended for it to be.

    @Melchor,
This is in no way insane or rude. It is rather GOD using analogy, just as Stan Sykes has said.
Of course Im not sure if those things could be said publicly as the prophet does, (with regard to the customs and manners of the time)

But in so many instances, the Bible calls idolatry as prostitution ( Exodus 32:25) and in many other places. So the prostitution here refers to idolatry which sometimes included disordered sex or even orgies as commended by the priest of the gods of the nations which Israel submitted himself to.

Now the fact that GOD through the Prophet goes that far as to private organs is another figure of speech, GOD using the reasoning of the prostitute, to get attention from the prostitute.

If those things were openly spoken of, or were common place, thats ok. But if they were not, which means the prophet is coming rude Thats another figure of speech, I try to find the Greek name, but my connection is so bad this evening. However, the translation in English is Excess, which means saying bad things, even scandalous ones to get ones attention We have it in African languages, like in Lingala we call that figure of speech KOSANZA which translates to spew (Im very sure if that how it should be written) or to vomit which means saying bad shocking things, even purely rude insane nonsense to shock and get everybody ashamed, shut up and leave.

So there is nothing bad or strange in that.

Believe me it give me feeling like I am reading pornography story. When I told this is to my friend Marry-. She said dont seduce me. She didnt believe its from the Bible. She bet on that. And lost it and she came back to me as she promised me.
  • Eric on Ezekiel 23 - 11 years ago
It appears that the Lord was upset with Palestine/Israel and Samaria for taking in the cultures and pagan religions of Egypt and surrounding civilizations, all practicing similar pagan religions involving gruesome rituals and enslavement of men/women. One verse indicates that ancient Israelites of Jerusalem, Aholibah, were guilty of performing a pagan ritual, casting their children into the fire, in His name. That would fall right in line with some of different accounts of ancient Israel's integration of pagan rituals (traditions of men) with Yahwehism (pure Old Testament religion) throughout the Old and New Testaments. Jesus and other prophets tried to warn their fellow Israelites, attempting to correct their straying from Yahweh's commandments into the laws and customs of man-made principalities, the "traditions of men".

I'd be upset with them too. Don't be offended the harsh language, God essentially created these two pure lands and the leaders of each land both desecrated their sovereignty and betrayed their creator by trashing his gifts and proselytizing into paganism.

Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh [is as] the flesh of asses, and whose issue [is like] the issue of horses.

is this chapter metaphorical or literally
