Ezekiel Chapter 13 Discussion

    Thank You Chris.

Long ago I read a book called The Road Less Traveled. I remember nothing about that book except one sentence:

"People want their grief acknowledged and their feelings validated".

When someone's grief is acknowledged and their feelings are validated they can have some peace, so thank you.

Hi Dgjot. I understand what you're saying & agree with it. I try not to dwell too much on the failure of our governmental systems - I weary myself unnecessarily by doing so. We live in a fallen world; not only as sin has gripped each person, condemning to hell, but sin's manifestations are so diverse & know no boundaries. You gave examples of the worst of offenders against innocent people - how are these different from justices who mete out flimsy sentences, or even murderers who get released from prison, only to commit another heinous crime. I ask, 'is there any difference between these criminals: the one committing the crime & the other careless about properly dealing with it?' Will not the same LORD judge each one according to their wicked deeds? I know you are overcome by this issue, as I remember you writing on this before, & really, there's not much one can do except to leave it all in His Hands, to the One Who will judge righteously - none shall escape & none will have any excuse before Him.

In the meanwhile, mental, emotional & physical suffering will continue as man exercises his sinful urges on others - where possible victims must be helped, loved & restored; I think the LORD would expect this of us. All other things beyond our control or influence, the LORD will take care of in his time.

I know Ezekiel 13 is talking about how much God hates false prophets. But it also shows the insanity of punishing the innocent and coddling the wicked.

19 "And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?"

Specifically where it says- ".....to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live....."

My first thought was about our court system that coddles rapists and murderers and there's no justice for the victims of these crimes, and panders to irresponsible women who use abortions as birth control.

Who wrote Ecclesiastes??? Solomon??? Even he saw the stupidity of letting the wicked go free.

    Ecclesiastes 8:11

"Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil."

    1 Timothy 1:

    8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

    10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

I'm in favor of the death penalty for the worst offenders: murderers and rapists (of men, women, boys, girls, babies and animals. Fornication outside of marriage is a horrible sin.)

    What do you think?

Idk about y'all, but I'd be scared if I was there. I take it when the LORD is angry, you do not want to be the one who made him mad...

21 Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth,"[a](A) for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away,(B) and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City,(C) the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,(D) prepared as a bride(E) beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! Vickie,

If the end starts in our lifetime the teachings of the rapture of the Church to heaven, will have many not prepared for what is coming. ( Daniel 12:1) ( Matthew 24:29-31) ( Mark 13:24-27) tell us after the tribulation Jesus sends His angels to gather His elect, the second coming, not the third.

The great tribulation is confused with the wrath of God. We will be spared the wrath of God but we are not told we will be spared tribulation, ( Acts 14:22) ( Romans 8:35) (2 Thessalonian 1:4). When the end starts and the things that scripture tells us that is coming, I feel many that trust in this teaching will lose their faith because they are still here.

"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved".

All the saints before, and what they had to endure, burning at the stake, crucifixion, beheadings, fed to lions, and more. Are we better or more worthy than they, to be spared? Do we exalt ourselves above those who came before us? Christians are still today being killed.

1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This verse is said shows we meet Jesus and are taken to heaven. Is anywhere in this verse where our destination is? Does this verse say we go to heaven? How can we assume something that is not written? Does being carried to heaven line up with the other scriptures about Jesus's second coming? Where are the chosen told they will reign, heaven or earth?

Millions of dollars have been made from this theory.

2 Peter 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

May we walk and be led by the Holy Spirit of truth.

Do you not believe God's Word in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 or Luke 17:34-37 then?

Thank you for sharing TRUTH Vicki. The rapture theory is nothing more than a "fable of man". Again, thank you and may God keep you true to His Word.

    Amen Vicki.

That will be the most important thing for those who will be here.

Myself and many others prepared not to be here. One way or another we be about our fathers business. Do the work!!!

John 6:28-29. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE ON HIM WHOM HE HATH SENT..

Acts 16:31 And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Matthew 28:19-20. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

For now we preach the message that saves lives.

    The Cross!!

    Amen
  • Vicki JOPLIN - In Reply on Ezekiel 13:20 - 2 years ago
Jesus is the word that became flesh, your high Priest and your sacrifice. One of the most important things that he told his apostles is there will be many antichrist hat appear first. Revelations use connotations such as bride wedding and whore. The bride is Christian's, the wedding is the return of Jesus for them and the whore is the false Christ and the organization of them promoting him as Jesus. The most important thing is to worship the right Christ.

    Hi vicki.

    thank you,

as you said, " we should be found working"

one day we will have to give an account of what we done in the body,

i imagine some are going to be looking for those people they have convinced there's no rapture, or it's post trib or pre trib or whatever.

i imagine there will be some who also live their lives every day fighting those who believe in the trinity, looking for those they convinced there's no trinity,

and the lord tells them, those thousands of people you spoke to never made it because you never talked to them about the cross!!!.

if you would have planted a seed i would have made it grow!!!

and i would have given them my spirit and he would have taught them all things!!! ( things man can't teach ).

let's work together and do what comes first!!

    god bless.
  • VICKI - In Reply on Ezekiel 13:20 - 2 years ago
All will be transfigured at the appearance of Christ. Not just Christian's spirited away and non Christian's left on the earth. Daniel, revelations, 2 Thessalonians. All say the antichrist comes first deceiving those who think he is the true Christ. And by peace he shall destroy many. I am definitely not upset.
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Ezekiel 13:20 - 2 years ago
    Vicki.

Im sorry if I upset when I asked "

Is there a passage ANYWHERE in the Bible where it requires you to either believe or disbelieve the rapture as a requirement for salvation??

If I'm wrong I stand to be corrected.

    Please give the passages!!!

You stated "those who believe there's a rapture believes Christ comes first "

    That's not true!!

There's some believe Christ comes in the clouds before the antichrist ( pre trib.)

There's some believes Christ comes in the middle of the tribulation. ( Mid trib )

And there's some says Christ comes at the end of the Tribulation. ( Post trib..)

    You quoted.

Matthew 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

DOING WHAT?? Talking about the rapture or spreading the Gospel??

Getting someone to see as you do in this matter about the rapture won't save lives!!

    That's all I was saying.

However we do no the saints are removed.

1 Thessalonians 4:17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

    God bless.
  • Vicki l Joplin - In Reply on Ezekiel 13:20 - 2 years ago
Sorry but as a matter of fact it does. Those who believe that there is a rapture think that Christ comes first. When the bible tells you explicitly that the anti- christ comes first. Which means that those people are worshipping Satan instead of waiting for the real Christ. Blessed are those when the Lord comes he finds still working in the field. Read your bible.
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Ezekiel 13:20 - 2 years ago
    Hi Vicki,

Is there a passage ANYWHERE in the Bible where it requires you to either believe or disbelieve the rapture as a requirement for salvation??

there's differences throughout the scripture, some that determine salvation and some don't.

THE RAPTURE ISN'T ONE THAT "DETERMINES" YOUR SALVATION .

Jesus commanded us to Go out and be a part of teaching and preaching the Gospel,

That should be where your heart and passion should be.

    These differences shouldn't divide us!!

    God bless.

The pillows are covering his outstretched hands. He wants his children to come to him but false preachers are covering the truth with the rapture theory. Everyone is changed at the coming of Jesus Christ. Not just Christian's. We remain on earth. The earth is restored after the millennium.

Use a Strong's Concordance, look up the words "cloud" and "air" in 1 Thes 4: 16-17. 16:"the Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, voice of archangel, and with the trumpet of God" (book of Revelations refers to the 7th trump)

"and the dead in Christ shall rise first" as Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be in paradise with him THAT day. 17:"in the clouds" hebrew meaning, "in crowds", and "in the air" hebrew meaning, "spirit form". Also, "Satan will deceive the world" with his talks of peace and "flying away". 6th trump will be "fly away to be saved" by the Antichrist. 7th trump: WE, US, Armor up! Jesus cleanses the world! Check it out! Love you, ALL my friends in Christ.

Thank you Chris . I still find this to be a strange saying .
  • Chris - In Reply on Ezekiel 13 - 3 years ago
In Ezekiel 13, the prophecy is against the prophets who prophesy "out of their own hearts & wills" (v 2) & not from God's Word to them. Apparently, both men & women were guilty of this despicable act & the warning was to the men (vv 1-16) & also to the false women prophets (vv 18-23).

It is difficult to interpret verse 18 correctly, as commentators have given several meanings, but it appears that as a result of false prophetic utterings, both the men & women claiming to give the people God's Word, were doing so using divination & occultic practises (vv 6-9, 23). So verse 18 seems to refer to one such practice employed by the 'women prophetesses', that is, those "that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?"

It seems that these women graphically portrayed their authority from God & message of peace ("which see visions of peace for (Israel), and there is no peace" v 16). They wore veils (kerchiefs = handkerchiefs) over their heads pretending to be in touch with God & also resting comfortably at their tables (pillows at their 'elbows' = armholes = armpits) visually indicating the continuing peace & security of Israel (vv 10,11). All this is false prophecy the LORD had declared, rather, Israel would suffer much pain & hardship (vv 10-15).

I hope that I have given you as close an understanding to your query, though I remain open to other people's interpretation to this.
  • Mountain Preacher on Ezekiel 13 - 3 years ago
Verse 18 makes refrence to " Pillows to Armholes ". What are these and what is meant by it. ?

One should be wary of false prophets. Jesus said if it is possible they will deceive the elects by false wonders! To be for warned is to be for harmed! Therefore to know the true prophets, one should not look for wonders or charisma or oratory because these can be fake. But one should look for fruit character which is the true identity of a person. "By their fruit ye shall know them" - Jesus

Ya'll can keep looking for Asparagus Christ. If I see sum'n flyin' in the sky I'm gonna mistake it for a turkey. Look at the Hebrew for pillows (Concealment) Concealing What? Truth Of Course!
