This chapter shows the sacrificial lamb that is Jesus Christ, and the blood that was put on the upper door meaning man's heart. Without the blood of Christ man cannot be saved. This is the same exercise that was instituted by Christ with the Lord's Supper.

Exodus 12:2 mentions "This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you." What month in our calendar does this refer to? Also this chapter states "And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening." Since the scripture clearly states that the Passover shall start on the 14th day of the month why does the date change every year?

It means that if your life is covered by the blood of Jesus, no evil will touch you. And even if what seems evil tries to afflict, you will become as it is written, "All things works together for good to them that love God and which are called according to his purpose", Romans 8:28. Now GOD is saying to man, "When I see the blood of Jesus, I will save you and give you eternal life ( John 3:16, 36).

Ummm, RALPH just look at pharoah. He saw a bunch of judgments upon Egypt that Isreal was excluded from just as Moses prophicied. Pharoah refused to listen even with the irrefutable proof, of the LORD's anger toward him. It's not really God's fault if people choose to test his patience, he gave us free will to obey or disobey. The lamb being killed so the people would know, not for God to know. He already had it planned out. He IS all knowing all powerfull and infinite. Its not okay to own people. Just like polygamy is not okay. God just didn't specifically outlaw it. The people who wished to share in God's covenant or be seen as acceptable or clean to the Isrealites had to be circumcised by command of the LORD. hope that helped, and please do not write simply to rant or bash on God, or try to proove some sort of inaccuracy in the Bible. bye.

The blood od Jesus, through the blood we are protected(passover), I mean being passed over during a killing of people, but us(Believers of Christ Jesus) we are saved. Amen
  • Sean on Exodus 12 - 12 years ago
Why does god need to kill people to make a point? If he's god he should be able to avoid that path entirely.
Why does a lamb have to be killed for god to know who he is and isn't killing, does that mean he isn't all knowing?
And why is it ok to own people and force them to be circumcised?
