Wesley's Notes for Exodus 15:2

15:2 Israel rejoiceth in God, as their strength, song, and salvation - Happy therefore the people whole God is the Lord: They are weak themselves, but he strengthens them, his grace is their strength: they are oft in sorrow, but in him they have comfort, he is their song: sin and death threaten them, but he is, and will be, their salvation. He is their fathers God - This they take notice of, because being conscious of their own unworthiness, they had reason to think that what God had now done for them was for their fathers sake, #Deu 4:37|.

The Israelites sang a victory song to Jehovah God. Singing is a way to offer praise and thanksgiving to God.

Exodus 15:3 "The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name" V.18. The LORD shall reign for ever and ever."V.26 (It was true then, it is true now). He is a "man of war." Romans 11:36 "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things; to whom be glory forever."

A long time ago a woman asked if Pharoah died in the Red sea. Ex. 15:19 is the closest answer you are going to get. And, as with all scripture, you can twist it around to mean what you want. God authors His word this way, to give you free will to serve Him or not. We have such power OVER Him; we can stop Him in His desire for us to turn to Him by - not turning to Him.

"And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb . . ." I think we are too dull to really and fully appreciate the meaning of that Great Day of Rejoicing, when we are at last brought victorious through this flood, unto the throne of God! Our experiences of healings and deliverances are but a small token, and fall short of that Glory yet to be revealed in us in Christ!

Moses is called The Man of God, teaching the very words of God for commandments. Jesus is called the Son of God, exhorting other to follow him. Moses was honored in that he humbled himself always. Jesus obeyed the Father even experiencing death to do his will. These honored God as One, without a partner. Do you who profess a triune know that the Father is not divided. Honor his messengers
