Juarez: Sometimes it is hard to forgive someone, even with Christ in my heart. I could boil for a while, grit my teeth, where's that baseball bat! Thanks be to God he can bring calm in the storm! All the sinful things we done that brought unbelievable pain to our Savior! He said I forgive you. The anger can turn to peace when you forgive those who hurt you. Face to face or in prayer or both.

Ephesians 4 vs 25,29,31 our words express the true conditions of our hearts.

God, in Jesus name, I pray that we all, sons and daughters of you, would be able to bridle our tongues at all times regardless of any or under any circumstances and or conditions.

  • Kepha on Ephesians 4 - 7 years ago
I believe this verse is pertaining to how we treat each other. So everyone has been guilty of talking about someone wether it was in the past or now, but understanding scripture holds us accountable to do the fathers will! And that's to love your neighbor HALLELUYAH!

Ephesians 4:29 clearly tells us that the same mouth that we say our prayer, eat and drink we should not be using vulgarities and bad mouth others. Its basic common sense. This verse has wake me up. God bless

May our God help us to use words that build up, not destroy, other people.

I like Sharon's comment on v. 5 - AMEN! I love the whole chapter. Verse 26 - since I r'cvd the Holy Ghost - I don't get angry. It just takes too much energy. It's so much easier to go into prayer mode. Anger just keeps feeding on itself (and feeding on your body). I'm not saying I won't get angry one day, I am human - still.

Verse 29 Is soo sp cial to me bcuz it makes understand the power of our tongues . Wat we say is wat will happen in the long run or our future days to come. Soo its important to always confess positvely no matter what circumstance we may face. The devil is ready act by our confessions.
  • Wayne on Ephesians 4 - 8 years ago
Verse 26, is speaking to the brothers and sisters in the faith. He is talking about being angry with a believer. And we are not to be angry at a member of the church without a cause or we are considered murderers. Love love love. The power is in Christ alone. We ourselves are helpless. He is our strength.
  • Lu2677 on Ephesians 4 - 8 years ago
God says don't let the sun go down on your anger. Be slow to anger.
Put the things of V.31 away from you. Elsewhere he says "turn the other cheek.
Don't look to the left or to the right after every doctrine that comes along, do not be tossed to and fro.

Ivy, Acts 3:19, after repentance our sins are blotted out in the sight of God. Not to be remembered. Paul writes that he forgot those that were behind and was pressing on to the mark of the prize of the high calling of God.
  • Doreen on Ephesians 4 - 8 years ago

Kim, Ephesians 4 3:6 gives us the context; one spirit, one body of Christ (his church) is in unity, with a high calling of hope and peace. We are to be in unity of God's law. Contending for the faith.
  • Lu2677 on Ephesians 4 - 8 years ago
Hello Ivy, you wrote that sometimes in order to forgive, we have to forgive ourselves too. Can you give me the scripture that tells us this is true? Because I just read Ephesians 4, I searched this site for the word "forgive" and "forgiveness" I do not see where God commands or even suggests to us to forgive ourselves. We are commanded to repent of our sins. I am trying to help you with love.
  • Ivy on Ephesians 4 - 8 years ago
Showing forgiveness sometimes is being kind to those who hurt you. Showing that you love them and your over it no matter what however sometimes in order to forgive sometimes we have to forgive ourselves to. God wants us to forgive not just others but ourselves for the mistakes God is still working on us.
  • Noel on Ephesians 4:22 - 8 years ago

Giving place to the devil is like asking for a beat down from the grade school bully that really doesn't have the power unless you give it to him.
  • Brianna on Ephesians 4:18 - 8 years ago
The nations, are in ignorance. Satan has blinded the mind of unbelievers. What good is bad, and what is bad is good. Today 's free thinking attitude, that everything is "relative ", there is no right or wrong, is darkened understanding. It is ignorant to Jehovah God 's standards that are laid out in the Bible. People are accustomed to making up what they think is right, and live by their own imperfect principles. This alienates them from God.
