How encouraging the 1st verse is! Paul is in prison in Rome (and yet he calls himself ''a prisoner of Jesus for us gentiles!)
We would have been lost without these epistles . Yes, the wholeBible is written with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thank you my Lord.

This here is the crux of the matter that explains why the majority of the Christian church is failing. It is failing because of not recognizing that God had imparted to Paul a new dispensation (administration/programme) that was hitherto kept secret. but now reveal to him for the Gentiles. It is a dispensation of Almighty God's Grace, in particular to Gentiles who were far from God and having no Hope in this world, but also to Jews who believe. A knowledge of the Mystery is truly liberating. This ties in with Paul's discussion in the previous chapter about the eternal building consisting of the Kingdom Church and the Body of Christ.

In this family there is a special relationship to God. There are no outsiders, not in heaven or in earth. That family is related by the blood and covenant. His named is placed on the family to identify who they are . His name has some power and responsibilities with it. What is the name of the family? There is only one name and that is Jesus.

This verse is talking about knowing the love of Christ. As this verse shows, it means more than just having "head knowledge." This knowledge must affect one's heart. We can learn about Christ's love by reading the Bible, but we truly come to appreciate and know that love more by practical application in our lives. This way we come to truly appreciate the feelings of the Christ and we will "know the love of the Christ" through personal experience.

    My God is awsome
as a child i have hid in my heart a love for the first man who asked for me. But my parents said no to the offer. I went on and lived in a marriage for 32 years with abuse mentally, physically and emotionally from both spouse and relatives. MY marriage was over after 32yrs. just as i asked god to allow my yongest to turn 17 and then i would go back to ministry full time. God in his goodness was so good to me. I believed that one day God would rescue me, i would be free. Free to love who i have always loved. Him God first and then the youthful pure love as a memory. But two yrs. ago God opened the door and i spoke to the man of 32yrs. God brought him to me. Not as a lover but as a support, a friend closer than a brother, an encourager and a confidont. It feel great to love without boundaries, without carnality and more than all to prove God: " Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in
us..." it is a wonderful experince when our faith produces. for with our hearts, we belief in righteousness and with our mouth we speak the word and bring our thoughts to actions and life.

When I read this verse Eph 3:20 what comes in my mind is a rewind of my life 20 years back when I did not have a clue what God would do in my life to reach this state of blessedness today. I had absolutely no idea when I asked Lord Jesus to bless & take over my life. Today I stand with my Jaws open, mouth wide open, eyes popping out just even to comprehend what great good things God did in my life. He is truly an amazing God to a worthless creature like me. You just have to give Lord Jesus one chance and experience the difference, it will blow you off.

  • Diana on Ephesians 3:14 - 10 years ago
To go on ones knees is an act of position. you are not standing nor are you walking or lying down. Each of these have a meaning example walking is a type of your relationship with God. bowing down on your knees is a type of worship. and notice it is not one knee but both. This notes a sold out position to God. Also this is to the Father and it is a relationship we have with God because of his son Jesus the Christ. It is through Jesus that we are able to come to the father by the blood.

The Secret is Let Him figure out the How and You Learn to commit to trusting that this is a Truth.

God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, but its according to the power which works in us and that power is from God.That's why Paul said he could do all things through Christ(anointing)which works strengthens him.

  • G Holliday on Ephesians 3:11 - 10 years ago
Mankind is inherently an immoral entity guided by the lust of power and control over others. God kicked the devil out of his Kingdom because of such lust. God never meant for mankind to stay on the earth forever. His eternal purpose to have mankind voluntarily worship him and love him as the living God will be fulfilled. However, most of mankind will be banished along with Satin according to the Bible. Amen
  • Timothy Wayne George on Ephesians 3 - 10 years ago
Paul is in prison, but he is not allowing that to stop him from fulfilling his manifest destiny, which is to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. Paul wants the Ephesians to be filled with the mystery of the knowledge of Christ, which was hid in ages past, as well as to know the love of Christ which p***es knowledge. God is able to make all grace abound toward us, and is able to do exceedingly, and abundantly all that we may ask or think in Christ Jesus according to the power that works in the church throughout all ages, world without end. So stay tuned to Christ for in Him is all the mystery of the gospel revealed. Let the love of Christ empower you to move past hate, and know the dept, the breath, the length, and height of His love for the saints.

  • Kapi Ifeanyi C. on Ephesians 3:20 - 10 years ago
This portion(Eph.3:20) clearly shows a distinction between man's imagination & God's abilities.Man is limited in expression and imagination but God is not. No wonder He said in 1 Cor.1:25 that man's wisdom is His foolishness. When we can no longer imagine, He starts performing. He is our strength, when we are wick. This, remember that for God to "Do exceeding abundantly above All", absolute Faith and Trust is required.......thus,"According to the POWER that WORKETH in us.Praise God.
  • NATHAN ELIOTT on Ephesians 3:1 - 10 years ago
Paul didnt say he was a prisoner of the romans which he was, He said he was a prisoner of jesus christ.a prisoner has no rights and does only that which his captor allows and tells him to do.Paul was saying he did nothing on his own..
  • R. D. Mattock on Ephesians 3 - 11 years ago
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
    CONFIDENCE
1 John 5:14-15 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
How many of us lack confidence when we pray? We pray out of duty with very little anticipation of anything really changing or happening. Does this sound like your prayer life?
God really desires to answer our prayers and to give us the things that we are often in need of, but so often we sense that God is far from us and doesn't really care what is going on in our lives. I believe God really does care for us and desires to answer our prayers in a way that brings glory and honor unto His name.
