The Bible doesn't say "once saved always saved" but it is an eternal salvation which is given freely and we are sealed and secure in Christ, Eph.1:13, 2Cor. 1:21 if we have truly trusted him for it. Good verse you referenced. Thanks and God Bless.

Acts 3:19 and Matthew 3:8 is talking about true repentance which is turning from sin to God. I don't follow after sin now but being in the flesh I am surely not sinless. My salvation is secure in Christ but my peace and joy come from keeping sin confessed and seeking the Lord for grace to overcome. Sin is no longer imputed to me as a child of God. Romans 4:2-8. God chastens us in mercy when we sin

The book of Acts is a transition from the old to the new. Did you not understand vs. 13 telling us we are sealed by the Spirit? 2Cor. 1: 21-22 telling us again of the sealing. How do you know you are saved for eternity if an evil thought could keep you out of heaven. When I trusted Christ to save me it was a permanent thing. A new creature in Christ. Salvation is of the Lord. God Bless you.

as long as we live under God's ways and not our own, people can backslide, or truly not except Christ, for he who fills us with the spirit, knows this life is temporary, no evil can prevail when we are in Christ. Amen! many blessing to you always peace be with you.

I know We have to repent and ask for God's forgiveness every day, because we are not perfect, We are just simply sinners saved by Grace. When We sin, We don't lose Our Salvation, We lose Our relationship with the Lord, when We pray and ask for forgiveness God says He will forgive and forget Our sins in the sea of His forgetfulness. No one can live a perfect life, because we are human.

Acts3:19 may help you understand why we repent daily, just a thought could keep you from enter the kingdom , it's not being born again over and over again it's repenting God Bless you always peace be with you also Matthew 3:8

Scripture says God is male, "Father Son Holy Spirit. The 3 are one. When God revealed himself to me I saw the face of Jesus every time I closed my eyes for 2 years. I can assure you God is male. Jesus said, "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father also." Jesus also referred to the Holy Spirit as 'He'. God has created female beings so he understand both male and female, but he is not a woman.

I think the book of Ephesians claims the supreme power of Jesus Christ to supersede any other power in earth and in Heaven

  • Robert E Hutchinson on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Where in the Bible does say that We must be born again and again and again. Does it not say Once saved always saved, and what about the verse where Jesus says, no Man can pluck You out of My hand. In Roman's it says Who so ever SHALL call upon the Name of Jesus SHALL be saved, not again and again and again, etc.

re: "Simply" God's ETERNAL Salvation vs. "temporary or probational" salvation? Please "study" prayerfully carefully 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 And Also 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 And "ask" these questions: 1 Did the UNrepentant saint "lose" salvation 2 Do the "co-laborers" saints With God, who built "wood, hay, And stubble" lose salvation, or is Verse 15 "false"? Grace And Peace Unto ALL!

My comments will go beyond this chapters and across all
teachings of Paul: I want to reflect that the newness in Jesus Christ and therefore a new walk in spiritual life in Christ is not of any 101 or 102 to other advanced level of school of thoughts, approaches, methods or superior principles in being Christian; these are one of the mechanicals of why and how; let spirit talk in Jesus Christ...

Mark, Eph 1:1 is addressed to the FAITHFUL in Christ Jesus. God's love is unconditional, however all his promises are conditional, if you do this, I will do this, this and this. Note the qualifier in Heb 11:21-22 "For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee ... but toward thee goodness, IF THOU CONTINUE in his goodness; otherwise thou also shall be cut off
  • Mark on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Jewell, Being Saved always means always saved. People fall away...true...but the consequence for doing so is loss of rewards...NEVER loss of Salvation. Our faith is built on The Rock of Jesus Christ and is a solid foundation. Any other faith is built on sand. Jesus uses words like EVERLASTING, FOREVER, ETERNAL, EVER AND EVER, Shall be SAVED, etc. None of these words are provisional. No guess work.

Being a person who feels abandoned and discouraged, it's good to learn about the relationship
with God and much he loves me. The book of Ephesians is surely good news.
  • Anthony Terry on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Paul tells the assembly of Corinth to dismiss the believer that was living in wickedness that in hope his soul may be saved. This was a believer so you answer will be found by Gods written word. We are indeed sealed unto the day of redemption. The two are not the same
  • Jewell on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Being saved does not mean you are always saved. You must continue in the walk that God has for you. If you start a life a sin and turn away from God, you must rededicate your life over to him. Otherwise, you could be saved and do all kinds of evil and still be saved? No, you must continue the good fight in Jesus name.

Nikita,'You are being born of the Word, not of corruptible but of the incorruptible seed which lives and abides forever'. 1Pet 1:23. Your spiritual growth to perfection, to the stature of the perfect man,Jesus Christ, depends on which you are going to be feeding the most, your flesh or your spirit. 'As new born babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word that you may grow thereby,' 1Pet 2:3.

Nikita, you have to take the verses you read in the New Testament and look at who the authors were talking to. If you look at Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts amd Hebrews - 3rd John, The authors are speaking to Jews. Romans-Philemon, the authors are speaking to Gentiles. When it comes to the question of salvation, we are all Gentiles now. If you are saved once, you are saved for eternity.
  • Dr jeffery Bennett on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Simply put: once someone is truly born again it is forever. John 10:25-30 says there r those that properly believe and those that don't and The Lord Jesus knows the difference. He gives to those that believe eternal life, and they will never perish, and cannot be plucked out of His or the Fathers hand (v 28-29). God will carry a believer through the ups and downs in life: HE will carry us through.
  • Alex on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Real Salvation can only be initiated by Gods WORD which is his VOICE and his WORD CANNOT RETURN UNTO HIM VOID IT HAS TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT IT WAS SENT TO DO WHICH IS ETERNAL LIFE, Thus if your salvation has been initiated by his VOICE, HIS WORD TH LIVING WORD YOU CANNOT FALLAWAY,SIMPLY B/C GODS WORD CANNOT RETURN UNTO HIM VOID ISA.55 V 11. Jesus said to them that HATH shall more be given NOT LOSE IT.

Can anyone help me with this crucial question:
    - can Salvation be lost or not?
-Once someone is saved, is he sealed for ever?
    - what happens when a believer stops believing altogether, looses faith in Jesus as their savior? can they still have eternal life?
    - what about those who believe in Jesus as the son of God but not the savior? will they receive salvation as per Jhn 3:16?
    Thanks.
  • Kurt Chappell on Ephesians 1 - 5 years ago
Jesus preached salvation to his disciples, who were building a faith imperfect because we’re still human. Only God knows certain matters of faith. Some struggle and we could wonder ,” were they really born again?” Their faith is at least headed in right direction. Only the Spirit can perform these miracles. Exposure to authentic Christians who espouse His Word is a must, as this is Christ’s body.
