People's Bible Notes for Ephesians 5:25

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives. We have here not only the duty, but the measure of the duty. Even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Loved so well as to be willing to give all things, even life, for her welfare. The union of husband and wife were here described is ideally perfect. The tenderest love on one side, and loving obedience on the other.

Discussion for Ephesians 5:25

  • im a women and my husband loves the Lord but does not let him have his way in his life he wants to do what he thinks is right but i cant say anything about it because it comes off like im nagging or trying to tell him what to do but its tearing my marriage apart i just dont know what to do
  • men must not live in the fresh but in the spirit inorder to fullfill the will of God.
  • I agree with Toni. Only men who have Christ in their hearts and are filled with the Holy Ghost can love their wives unconditionally. Thank God for his Word which challenges us to be there for our wives and families.
  • The only husband who can truly love the way Christ loved is he must possess Christ. He must be filled with the Holdy ghost, who will spread the love abroad in his heart. Women are wanting good men, but if they are not godly men, they will not have this love Paul speaks of.

The kind of the Bible is saying in the sacrificial love, that is, the love Jesus has for us. The Bible says nobody can hate any part of his body. So, we men will ought to love our wives as Jesus love the church. Note that, marriage centred on three things Love man , Submission wife obedience children all these lead to dependable and reliable family.
