Wesley's Notes for Ephesians 1:17

1:17 That the Father of that infinite glory which shines in the face of Christ, from whom also we receive the glorious inheritance, #Eph 1:18|, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation - The same who is the Spirit of promise is also, in the progress of the faithful, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation; making them wise unto salvation, and revealing to them the deep things of God. He is here speaking of that wisdom and revelation which are common to all real Christians.

People's Bible Notes for Ephesians 1:17

Eph 1:17 That. This introduces the things for which he prayed God in their behalf. The Father of glory. The source of all spiritual glory. Give unto you the Spirit of wisdom. A gift of the Spirit. See PNT "1Co 12:8". Divine wisdom works wisdom in believers. And revelation in the knowledge of him. The Spirit that reveals a knowledge of God and spiritual mysteries. This Spirit would enable them to better comprehend the "mystery" of God, the divine plans for human redemption in a better knowledge of him.

Saints May we open our eyes to the Grace of Jesus Christ wisdom and knowledge of his Great Salvatiom of his Gospel of truth. We are accepted in the beloved ,sealed by the Holy Spirit. Its a done deal Jesus is not coming back to deal with sin BUT TO BRING SALVATION KEEP LOOKING UP

Romans 15:16 16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. What Paul did back then was very dangerous, because of the higher up Jews did not believe in the Gentiles joining together with Christ. So Paul ministered to Gentiles and Peter ministered to Jews

According to some well meaning, but perhaps less than honest or maybe inexperienced fellow-Saints; by simply reciting verses and standing rigidly to a determined position, that somehow makes them having attained. But why then does the Lord solemnly warn us to Take heed, Watch and Pray always, Let no one deceive you? Because we need to attend to the things we have received with constant discipline.

"I am no different then Paul when I preach.." I knew a brother like that some years ago: he seemed to really think that because his name was Paul, that that was a sign from God that he was Paul. Eventually you have to get away from these kinds; they have listened to the devil, who told them, You are the ONE! Using Scriptures to smite his FELLOW-SERVANTS but not remembering the mercy he's received!

Mr. Kelly; since you seem to have no interest, but to keep telling EVERYONE ELSE that they need to quit sinning; it hardly makes sense to keep trying to reason with you. "Set them to judge who are least esteemed in the Church." Nearly every sectarian person (heretic) is full of Scriptures he uses to damn others; while being completely obtuse to the "weightier matters of the Law; mercy and faith."
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly
Disciple: I am no different then Paul when I preach. 2nd Cor 11:6] But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
