Praise to our GOD in heaven, The LORD Jesus Christ! By your inclusion of this commentary from the pen of Matthew Henry you have supplied for me a key to the unlocking of the Wisdom of Scripture, which wisdom I could not attain unto, though for 40+ years now, even with pleadings to Him, I have tried by my own devices. God's Wisdom is plain if I will but receive it.
I give thanks and pray every night before I go to bed, when I rise and during the day. When in the mountains is when I feel the closest. Boulders, grass, trees and the fast running water. I feel God made that area for us. May all be blessed by the Lord.
The wages of sin is death but there is no Biblical reference that suggests eternal life is payment of a wage, or payment for something earned by the sinner.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Praise be to God for Jesus the Christ the son of the Living God! It Is by faith in his death burial and Resurrection there is life!! If we confess with our mouths Jesus is Lord I believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead we will be saved!! May God grant us change of mind!! Thank you for making this possible to share
My grandma used to say to me ; if the world loves you , then you are doing something wrong . It took me a long time to understand that but I do now . Much love in Christ.
Hi my brothers and sisters it's been a very long time since I've been here and every time I post something I gain not only encouragement but also other brothers and sisters who are well more upright than I. Last Thursday I was reading Exodus 15 at work and suddenly I felt hands on my shoulders. Now I've been a Christian for going on four years and I know the spirit of God moves in me and lives in me but this was a feeling I've never felt. It wasn't bad but I didn't think much of it. To be honest when it happened I just said hm. And huhlol. Later on I spoke with my mom and she stated that it was Jesus letting me know he's always there. I told my grandma who's 96 years old and said it was like the hand of God was on me and so then she replied well that's because it was. I've been trying to tell as many people because it's a beautiful experience to even given this is solely on his grace and grace alone. He's teaching me that Satan is a liar and even though my wife and I are unequally yoked and have my reservations on my marriage I have to rely on the power of God for everything. I know I can come on here and y'all will listen to me and not condemn me or say something very ugly. I just feel like sometimes I have no one to speak to other than God who I love speaking to. Him and I will go hours speaking. On the road. When I wake up. When I shower.etc.I ask for your prayers concerning my faith and me getting stronger with God but also for my wife that one day she's lead to Christ. Even when my soul is fading I know he will deliver me. Have a blessed night/day
I find the 23rd Psalm to be a perfect synopsis of the entire Bible, from Genesis through The Revelation. Said Psalm is a mini Bible that I memorized many years ago and have since recited in my private thoughts at least once a day all those years, but often I recite it many times for the calming effects because the words are so perfectly what the entire Holy Bible is and says. The 23rd Psalm says it all. It is a healthy brainfill. Try it.
No matter what you are going through, be strong and continue serving God and being a partaker of Gods Kingdom, do not circum to weakness. God is your rewarder. God is delightful to see us his children following His footsteps and doing good.He wants us to humble out selves and be obedient to Him.
Jesus is Lord, the Word in flesh, a Divine Inspiration, and Manifestation of miracles that was born, lived, died, and resurrected in power. All so we could do greater things.
If a person is truly trusting the LORD JESUS CHRIST for his or her salvation, no they cannot go to hell. 1 John 5: 11-13; John10: 27-30; Acts 4: 10-12; Colossians 1:12, 13; Revelation 20:15; 21:27.
GOD bless all those who have trusted in the Name of the SAVIOR the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
On and off for a few weeks, Luke 17:32 has been coming to my heart, being quickened to me by the Holy Spirit:
"Remember Lot's wife."
Several times when it came, I'd think on it for a bit - but truly didn't 'get' any further instruction on it - until two days ago.
I was working around the house - and the Holy Spirit AGAIN brought that verse to my mind - but this last time, He
started instructing me.
He laid on my heart that there are some professing Christians who, in the midst of these hard times are looking BACK. They long for the 'good old days'; they long for a better economy, better jobs, lower prices, opportunities to have fun, travel...you know....'normal' American or western life.
These are dangerously committing the sin of Lot's wife, and are in danger of similar judgment. They are heedless, forgetting Christ's warning for such a time as this!!!
Those believers who are looking ahead, looking unto Jesus, looking for the glory yet to be revealed, looking for His coming
don't look back and hanker after 'what was' - but yearn for what lies ahead...Like Paul the apostle, they FORGET what is BEHIND
and press toward what is ahead, their faces forward.
They are believers who count all dung in comparison to knowing Christ, and are constantly hungering after Him; they are those who love His appearing and long to hasten the day; they are those who could care less if the 'good old days' come back or not - because they are not worldlings; who want 'their best life now", in this present time and place; they understand that their citizenship is in heaven, and that is their true home.
What kind of believers are we, then, in view of this dear sisters and brothers? We need to ask ourselves TODAY, while it is yet TODAY - which direction are our faces pointed? Looking back? Or looking forward? SELAH.
I'm not saying that not all men will be resurrected. I am saying that nobody goes to hell for Adam's sin but all humans will die physically because of the sin they inherited from Adam.
It should have for believers, but with all things involving people change was difficult and many Jews had difficulty leaving it behind. Social pressures, rejection by families and being put out of the synagogues brought challenges and the temptation to go along to get along. That is why the book of Hebrews was written. The author was trying to prevent Jewish believers from turning back to the sacrificial system and showing them Jesus was superior in every way to that system.
Here is my attempt to summarize Hebrews:
Jesus superior to the prophets: Hebrews 1:1-3
Jesus superior to angels: Hebrews 1:4-14, Hebrews 2:1-8
Jesus able to represent humanity: Hebrews 2:9-18
Jesus superior to Moses: Hebrews 3:1-6
Warnings about hardening our hearts to God's calling: 3:7-19
Warnings about missing God's rest provided by faith in Jesus: 4:1-13
Jesus provides bold access as our high priest: 4:14-16, Jesus meets high priest requirements: Hebrews 5:1-10
Warning about being dull of hearing and unprepared for a deeper teaching: Hebrews 5:11-14, 6:1-8
Encouragement to believe that they are ready for deeper teaching: Hebrews 6:9-12
Teaching about the importance of God giving His oath to Christ He would be a priest forever: Hebrews 6:13-20
Teaching the superiority of the order of Melchisedek that Christ belongs to over the Levitical priesthood order: Hebrews 7:1-28
Christ's priesthood serves the heavenly reality that the law only was an earthly copy of: Hebrews 8:1-5
The superiority of the New Covenant over the Old: Hebrews 8:6-13,
The superiority of Christ's complete sevice over the incomplete Levitical service: Hebrews 9:1-28
The superiority of Christ's sacrifice: Hebrews 10:1-22
Warnings about drawing back: Hebrews 10:23-39
Importance of and examples of faith: Hebrews 11:1-40
Exhortation to submit to chastisement: Hebrews 12:1-29
Exhortation to practically live out their Christian faith and benediction: Hebrews 13:1-25
Dear Gigi , thanks for your reply to me . There r a lot of people on here who r very passionate in their beliefs and I think that that is a good thing . We all know how Jesus feels about lukewarm don't we ? I just feel that we all need to b careful that our own passion for our own beliefs doesn't literally consume and reduce to ashes , someone else on here . I'm thankful that u understand where I'm coming from . Love in Christ .
It's something that requires a serious lifelong commitment and even if we read the Bible every day for many years we won't ever know everything about it but I think that's a good thing . It's the fact that there is always something new to learn that helps to keep me interested and focussed and wanting to read it every day .
This what they did they put nails in his back, in his arm, in his feet
When you are stress out pray to God
