Part 2 of 2 Then you have the scripture in Ecclesiastes 3 21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? If I can say it like this, this scripture is stating that man 's spirit will go upward to God and that the beast spirit will go downward to the earth. The meaning of beast, according to Webster, is any animal as distinguished from a human being. Any large, four footed animal sometimes, specif., a domesticated animal.

  • David Fig on Ecclesiastes 3 - 9 years ago
Praises be to God the loving father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Praise him for his mercy, grace and unconditional love. For one day he chose to leave his home in glory in the person of our Lord Jesus out of the realm of eternity where time has no dominion. Entered the realm of time, to prove that which is acceptable to God because we could not, then gave himself to suffer, bleed, and die as the spotless Lamb of God. Providing a way of salvation so that one day we who believe can once and for all be saved out of this distructive sin cursed realm of time to be brought into his paradise in eternity where never again will there be a time of war, a time to kill, or a time to wheep. Hallelujah what a Savior! He being rich made himself poor so that we can be made rich. 2 Corinthians 8 9 Thank you Father God for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. John 3 16

My question is, the first part of the verse is talking about what is, that 's present, now and then God says in the last part of the verse that it has already been. In other words, sometime in the past. Well how far back in the past what we have today could it have been?

I thank my Heavenly Father for trials and tribulations as it keeps me closer to Him. Where could I go but to Him who is the author and finisher of my Faith. I love Him with all that is within me. • Mark on Ecclesiastes 3 - 10 years ago
Concerning the determination of all God s creation after death It should be noted what v 14 states that God does things forever Nothing can be added or taken from it Death is simply a transition period For those who think animals plants or fish cease to exist upon their demise here should look no farther than the Tree of Life which was in the midst of the Garden of Eden prior to the advent of man Once Adam and Eve sinned there were banished from said Garden What happened to the Tree of Life Did it perish No It makes a return in the New Jerusalem Rev 22 2 Same tree different realm What God creates in the natural realm is good and He in no way ever gave Lucifer Satan another created being the ability to utterly destroy it s existence permanently

  • SEAN on Ecclesiastes 3:21 - 10 years ago
SPIRIT IS SPIRIT AND THATS WHAT IT SAYS AND THATS WHAT IT MEANS. SPIRIT MEANS SPIRIT,LOOK IT UP. THE THING IS, SPIRIT NEVER DIES. IT TELL US MAN HAS A SPIIRIT AND ANIMALS AS WELL. IN THE BIBLE SPIRIT MEANS SPIRIT. THEN THEY LIVE ON ITS NO HARD THING FOR GOD TO DO THAT. IF THE SPIRIT OF THE ANIMAL GOES DOWN TO THE EARTH, IT MAY BE GOD HAS A DIFFERANT PLACE FOR THEM UNTILL THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS.
  • Victoria on Ecclesiastes 3:14 - 10 years ago
whatsover God had determined for the lives of those who love and obey him is forever settled. Many around them may envy and may want the good works of God in their lives to stop, but they shall surely stand forever because the purpose for their lives is of God.

This place is telling us to have faith and wait upon God, Because when the time comes he will do all that we ask of him. Are u looking for job, child, wife, husband, money etc wait upon GOD for he is able to do it and he will do it at the right time.
  • TRACIE on Ecclesiastes 3 - 10 years ago
My favorite saying is "It's All Relative" What happens day to day is the same from yesterday and will be the same tomorrow. That is Vanity. What is important to God is that we be thankful for his gift of life. Rejoice and have joy in our labors. Understanding that we have a chance to MORE THAN the beasts of this earth by what we do for and how we love and honor God. Value the simple things of just eating and drinking because God has given Everything to you. If we do not fear God and TRY to live as he DIRECTS we are no more than the beasts if this Earth and will die and go downward instead of rising to be with God in Heaven.
  • Maacar on Ecclesiastes 3 - 10 years ago
The Word here helps us to realize, that God, as Creator, has given us a bit of time to occupy, and all things are temporal.
Although God created man a little lower than the angels, he is befallen by the same thing that befalls every beast of the earth and that is death. In this regard only, man and beast are alike...they are born, they have the same basic needs (food, water, shelter, air), and they die (vs.19). But there is a spirit in man that God created in His likeness...an eternal spirit that is answerable to Him; a spirit that is created to worship Him; a spirit that must be born again by His Holy Spirit in order to inherit the Heavenly home the Lord prepares for those who love and obey Him.
God was well pleased with all of His creation but man alone has a soul that is atoned for by the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask you, have you ever seen an animal be born again? Have you ever seen an animal worship the Lord? Have you ever seen an animal preach the gospel of Christ? God judges man, not animals, therefore, with animals, there is no "heaven to gain and hell to shun". They exist for God's pleasure and our enjoyment and use. If God has animals in Heaven it will be those He created in the beginning and in that heavenly place where sin does not enter and nothing or no one ever dies.
Let us not judge God's ways, much less tell Him that He is wrong. He is the creator and judge of all the earth. The question therefore of the spirit was not that "Who knows IF the spirit of man goes up and the spirit of beast goes down?" It is who can KNOW (have complete knowledge of) the spirit of the man which goes upward who can KNOW the spirit of the beast which goes downward to return to the earth(vs.21). God alone knows us full well.
Good and right are all the works of the Lord. He does and has done what pleases Him. Blessed be His name forever without end.

ecclesiates 3:21 its refearing to thatWho is certain that the spirit of the sons of men goes up to heaven, or that the spirit of the beasts goes down to the earth? and meaning god give every living creature a soul/ spirit for a reason, and meaning who says that animals should just rott here when they die and we should go to heaven, what makes us more loved than animals, if we go to heaven then so they!!! • Christopher on Ecclesiastes 3 - 10 years ago
    brings out avery strong revelations
  • Susan on Ecclesiastes 3 - 10 years ago
To TOM I don't agree-it clearly says Man has no preeminence above a beast. Reread 18 and 19. You are missing the point. It means that we are no better or worse (as one doeth so doeth the other)- and 21 ( who knows for a fact that mans spirit goes up and a beasts goes down). Yes be happy in your accomplishments but realize its all vanity. In the long run hearses don't come with luggage racks.
