    Asking for Prayer tonight.

I just got back from Urgent Care and I have covid. I have not had it before so I do not know how my body will do. God Paxlovid to take this week and have prednisone to take when Paxlovid is done.

Please pray for my health to hold strong and that I have a quick recovery. I am feverish, coughing, have a headache and my chest is tight.

Pray that no one else in our home gets this, especially Vivian who is 6 months pregnant.

The Lord watches over His own.

My mom was relaying a story tonight about a huge guy on the bus who went after someone trying to touch my Aunt (who is in her 80's) when travelling through a bad neighborhood for her part time job. The guy who defended her seemed to be dangerous himself (and perhaps was); but my point is illustrative of how the Lord works in unexpected ways.

I am not sure how it is for others on this forum; but often we expect God to answer our prayers either on our own; or with the help of our favorite circle of friends. I have seen the opposite happen more often; however. I worked with a very mentally abusive Paralegal in my former place of employment who the Lord used to help me get a decent agreement with my ex wife for divorce settlement. I didn't really care about what happened but didn't want long term issues. The only thing I was really wanting to do was to make it painful enough for her so that she may repent; or at least understand the dire consequences of committing adultery. Overall; my job there as a file clerk ensured that I had a full time income for many years and was able to support myself when I had to find a place to live on my own. The same thing could be said for someone who was part of the family practice that eventually split; as I was able to do a fair amount of notary and weekend work for some extra cash as well.

Those in the world know who is going to work hard and have principles even if they don't want to act very grateful much of the time. Nonetheless I was given a decent raise or two there.

I mention all this because I think it prudent for that task that we spend most of our waking hours doing for our working life be something we see the Lord's hand in. I was fortunate enough to have a number of deep conversations about Christ with a professing believer on that job; as well as others there (who would claim to be Christians but clearly through their actions weren't). To be continued next post....

Thank you for a non-discussion comment. I really enjoyed reading it. It's sounds like you are quite the soupmaker. I like to make homemade chicken noodle soup but now-a-days it takes a lot out of me so I don't do it very often. Yes, we had some really bad weather here, a lot of sever cold, snow and ice. We didn't loose any utilities but we can't get groceries until the end of next week because, I guess, trucks aren't getting through. My town is little, less then 7,000 and in the south so people here aren't use to this kind of weather at all. My son and I have a freezer and cupboards full of food so, praise the Lord, we can do fine without groceries. We may need to share with our neighbor upstairs. Walmart didn't text us until tonight about our order, so we'll check with her tomorrow to see if she's OK. She's a sweet lady. She has a little toy poodle named Monkey. LOL You didn't say, did you have any trouble with the weather? God Bless :)

I will pray for you before I retire to bed tonight. I so can relate to how you are feeling. I pray that your throat will stay clear and stop swelling as that is a serious symptom. Try to drink lots of plain water, maybe with a touch of honey. Ginger tea can be

    soothing.

    Hi Ronald.

I'm not sure what you mean by saying "you are not worthy to discuss the Bible with me"

Also, "We" have always been respectful with each other.

I said it would be great to set at a kitchen table and discuss the Bible, but it would be difficult to discuss it without at least a friendly debate, especially on this topic.

Considering the context of this thread my point of view is based on the following.

    GOD MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH.

This life giving spirit of God in the flesh could not sin.

Christ didn't become a life giving spirit at Calvary.

Christ was a perfect Lamb "led" to slaughter. He didn't "become" perfect at Calvary!

An unblemished Lamb chosen for sacrifice is perfect before you sacrifice him.

My comments in this thread is based around the belief in the triune God.

What I said is that this topic would be difficult to discuss without a friendly debate being your theology is built on Jesus not being God.

We are just sharing our different view points that we both are aware of, which we have done in the past.

I can't discuss this tonight because I live in the eastern time zone and I probably go to bed a lot earlier than most of you.

I will attempt to show how Jesus is our Kinsman redeemer is tied into why Christ came into the flesh and condemned sin in the flesh at a later date.

Ronald I don't get to read all the comments as I would like to but I haven't seen you get attacked for your beliefs anymore than those with the opposing beliefs.

In fact it seems you are asking most of the questions on the opposing beliefs and you have been getting friendly dogmatic answers.

    Thanks again and God bless.

Yes, Jema, I do believe that Jesus is God and the Father is God and the Spirit is God.

I do not have time tonight to bring the biblical verses for why I believe this. Please be patient and I will get back to you tomorrow on this topic. I have family commitment tonight. Blessings.

Dear Mary Jay , thank you for those verses , I did think of the Apostles as being fishers of men etc when I read this question . I did also think that the person asking the question seemed a bit like a babe in Christ and was looking for a literal interpretation and so I gave him one :) . Thank you again , I'm off out right now but tonight I shall study those verses that you gave me :) . Hope you have a good day .

    Dear Dixiechick,

I agree with you in prayer for the salvation of all in your family. tonight I pray for your grandson who is using drugs.

Dear LORD God, we ask that You deliver this young man from drug use and heal his mind and body from the effects and bondage of drugs. We ask that You draw him near to You and soften his heart to turn to You in a cry for help and salvation. We lift up this niece who needs Your love more than anything. Deliver her from trying to get this love from people who cannot satisfy as You can. turn her heart around to You and open it up to receive Your love and grace. We lift up all of Dixiechicks family before You and ask that You bring all to saving faith soon. Restore this whole family to faith and godliness in Jesus name. Amen.

Tonight I am thinking of some words of Jesus in Luke 21.

We have in our yard both the Olive and Fig tree. The Olive is high up on our hill and the Fig is lower down by our home. The Olive with further work can produce an oil and edible fruit, The Fig own its own can produce fruit. In the last days Jesus says, will be a

"distress of nations, with perplexity." part of verse 25.

Nations are like trees some high on the hill and some low and close to home.

Jesus in Luke 21 describes the times and how it will be near the end of the times.

The Olive tree is not mentioned in these times but Jesus gives the parable mentioning the Fig tree and the other trees beginning in verse 29.

We are advised to be looking up in times of perplexity for His return. Otherwise we may fear. What we may see in these last times are the Fig tree and other trees thriving close to our home instead of the Olive tree.

So we walk in conversation together, in love and in concern.

    Part 22.

The Islamic Threat to Israel (Part 5) (Conclusion)

    By Dave Hunt.

    A False Peace

The whole "peace process" was an Islamic ploy by Arafat, and will be no different under his successors, whoever they may be. Oslo required Arafat to remove from the PLO Charter the call for Israel's annihilation. In grand style he announced that the clause had been revoked. Yet in the same speech he praised terrorists and terrorist countries. It was a bald "hoax" as London's Daily Telegraph (5/2/96) declared. The clause had not and has not been removed. And even if it were, that would change nothing. It is not the PLO Charter that defines Israel's extermination, but Islam itself.

Blind to the obvious truth, Rabin's widow proclaimed in confident but misplaced trust, "Tonight I can tell you that the Palestinian National Council has revoked the clauses in its covenant that called for the destruction of Israel." Rabin's successor, Prime Minister Shimon Peres, hailed this "most important historical development in our region in 100 years." Peres exulted on Voice of Israel Radio, "Today we have ended the Israeli--Arab conflict--Utopia is coming!" What madness!

He willfully was closing his eyes and ears to the frequent calls for an end to Israel, repeated throughout the "peace negotiations" many times by Arafat and other PLO leaders, such as this by Arafat's deputy, Abu Iyad: "It is our right that we should have...an independent Palestinian state that will function as a base from which to liberate Jaffa, Akko and all of Palestine." Another aide, echoing Nasser and many others, had earlier said, "The struggle with the Zionist enemy is not a struggle about Israel's borders, but about Israel's existence." This is Islam.

Oslo only brought increased violence against Israel. In the ten years prior to Oslo, about 200 Israelis had been killed by terrorists, while in the ten years following about 1,200 were killed and more than 5,000 wounded.

    See Part 23.

    Brother Spencer,

Yes, that is a very powerful statement, "For whatsoever is not of faith is sin." So, anything that is not of faith is sin. Wow! Anything that is not prompted by God's Spirit is sin. That's what it is saying. That's what faith is. The word "faith" in the Greek text is a word that literally means persuasion.

So, faith is the persuasion and leading of God's Spirit. And anything that is not of faith (persuasion of God's Spirit) is sin. That pretty much sums up what sin is. Anything that I do which is not under the persuasion of God's Spirit, for me that is sin. It can even be something that we see as being perfectly okay, such as a hobby, sports, or participating in something we like to do. Anything we do apart from the persuasion (faith) of God's Spirit, that is considered sin.

An example of this would be God's Spirit persuading me to study the bible later on tonight. But later in the day, my wife wants me to take her to a new movie that just came out, and she wants to go tonight. What am I going to do? I mean I love my wife and I want to make her happy. Is it a sin if I choose to go to the movie, and just study longer tomorrow? But you see, we are constantly faced with choices like this each and every day.

Do you think that we sin throughout the day?

    INTRODUCTION TO GALATIANS (Part 2):

    III. THE HISTORY OF GALATIA:

The Celtics migrated from Gaul in Modern France around the 3rd century B.C.

The Romans conquered the Gauls in 189 B.C.

Galatia became a Roman Province in 25 B.C.

The name Galatia came to describe the entire Roman province.

The churches in southern Galatia were established during Paul's 1st missionary journey ( Acts 13:14-23). After Paul's 1st missionary journey, the Jerusalem Council met around 49 A.D. to discuss the problem of the Gentiles and the Law.

After Paul's 1st missionary journey and after the decision of the Jerusalem Council, false teachers (Judaizers) came into Galatia and infiltrated the churches with their false teaching. Shortly after the Jerusalem Council, Paul wrote his letter to the churches in the region of Galatia.

    IV. THE THEME OF GALATIANS:

Salvation is by grace through faith alone.

    V. WHY IT WAS WRITTEN:

False teachers attacked Paul's ministry and message. The Judaizers professed to be believers in Jesus as Messiah. Their doctrinal approach was the Gentiles are not in a position of Sons of the Covenant to receive the promises of God until they became Jews, and they follow the Law.

    VI. HOW IT WAS WRITTEN:

The form of the letter of Galatians is different from all of the other letters written by Paul. Galatians is the only letter not containing a commendation. It is the only letter written by Paul that is addressed to more than one church.

VII. THE IMPORTANCE OF THE BOOK OF GALATIANS:

Galatians is a shorter version of Romans. Romans is considered the "Constitution of the Christian Faith." Galatians is considered to be the Declaration of Independence of the Christian Faith.

VIII. SECTION OUTLINE OF THE BOOK OF GALATIANS:

GALATIANS CHAPTERS 1-2 - The Defense of Paul's Ministry and Message

GALATIANS CHAPTERS 3-4 - The Doctrine of Justification

GALATIANS CHAPTERS 5-6 - The Doctrine of Sanctification

I will post Ephesians tonight also. Blessings!

Dear Earl, thanks for your response.

I just wanted you to understand that I did not report you in any way.

If others choose to do so, I guess that is allowed on this forum as well.

Thank you for the encouragement concerning prodigal children. I believe that God will not abandon the work of His hands, but will accomplish what He has foreordained for my sons.

I agree we are the body of Christ, but not in the same way you do. We are still individual beings and will always be so, but being in Christ is that we have become one with Him as in marriage. A husband and a wife become one flesh but still remain two separate beings, but the union God performs when people get married is a mystery and not perceivable to the natural eye. Same with our union with Christ. He is still one person and we all are our own separate persons in Him, but the unity is not physically perceived, nor a physical reality.

Earl, I hope you are doing well. I am happy to know that you are here with us and if you mention that you are Earl in your posts if you post under a different name, that will help me to know who I am speaking with when I respond. That is important to me. It is not as if we haven't developed some relationship over the past year and a half, and I want to keep this in mind when I read your posts and when I respond. God's blessing to you tonight.

    Frankie,

I am done with errands and need to prepare dinner now. I will be preparing to go out of town tomorrow, so I will be packing tonight. I am not sure if I will get to your request or not. But I recommend that you read the accounts in the gospels of Jesus' resurrection and appearances to His disciples, also Acts 1 tells of the ascension.

You can read the Last Supper Discourse in John 14-16 to see what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit dwelling within believers and when the Holy Spirit dwells in us, the Father and the Son makes their abode in us, too.

1 Corinthians 15 speaks about the resurrection of the dead. And there are several places in John that say He will raise up our bodies on the last day.

There is no place in the New Testament that says that Jesus removed His humanity when He ascended to sit on His throne at the right hand of the Father. Stephen, in Acts 7:55, said he SAW Jesus sitting at the Father's right hand. His eyes saw Jesus and recognized him as the Lord he knew on earth.

If I get time in the next few days I will give you more Scripture.

Dear Pureheart, I am happy to pray for these three seniors, Gang, Xiao, and Peng.

Dear Heavenly Father, Gang, Xiao, and Peng are ailing with cancer and are unsaved. We offer them up before You for You to bring to each one the salvation of Jesus. We ask that You help them to overcome cancer and endure the treatments they may be receiving with strength that You provide. We ask that You move quickly in their lives so that they will come to You through Your Son, Jesus. Draw the to You, Father, and send to them Your Holy Spirit to regenerate them and lead them by the Gospel into faith in Jesus. We ask these things tonight in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

    Hi Ronald.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have to disagree with you here.

I won't have time to get to far into it tonight and would actually like to visit this again towards the end of this series I started a couple of months ago.

But I will look at one aspect of your questions.

    Your question concerning Daniel 9:27.

He shall confirm the covenant with many", COULD HE IN THIS VERSE FIT JESUS?

Let's look at that passage along with verse 26 and read it straight through.

"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: Pause.

Now here's another player mentioned midway through verse 26 and the focus doesn't come off him throughout vs 27.

    Let's continue.

AND THE PEOPLE OF THE PRINCE THAT "SHALL COME" shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. AND HE SHALL CONFIRM THE COVENANT WITH MANY FOR ONE WEEK: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, AND FOR THE OVERSPREADING OF ABOMINATIONS "HE SHALL MAKE IT DESOLATE, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. .

This is clearly the prince that shall come.

If it was Jesus confirming the covenant then it would be Jesus that makes the overspreading of abominations that makes it desolate.

Besides it's Jesus that points to this event as being future in Matthews

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, SPOKEN OF BY DANIEL THE PROPHET, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Matthew 24:15

    God bless.

Ronald, glad you are keeping up with the conversations here.

My son, Brian, is in Singapore right now waiting for his wife to have her immigration interview next Wednesday. If it goes well then she will be able to come home with him with a green card visa.

My other son, Kevin, just became engaged to his fiance. She is from Kenya and is here completing her college dergree. They plan to get married July 7th. Her Visa expires in September, but it may be different for them since they will be married in the U.S.

So, we are hoping all goes well with her and her immigration also.

Thank you for keeping my sisters in your prayers. I have not spoken to them since last summer after my mom's passing. But i continue to pray for them.

My husband just finished his last work of week last week. Now he is officially retired. He is on a long motorcycle ride today. Left early in a.m. and will be home after dinner time tonight. he loves riding his motorcycle and now he can go any day he wishes.

Ronald, we always welcome your contribution here.

My friend and I will be heading out tonight on a trip to Arizona for three days. Please pray that all goes well with the flights, hotels, and safety on the road. I am thankful to have this mini-vacation with my friend of 20 years. I have never done this before so I am excited and know we will have a great time together.

Also please pray for Joe and Stella, two people I saw running to catch a bus and they just missed it. I offered to take them to where they were headed. They got in and I dropped them off at the DSHS office about 20 miles from where we started. We had a good conversation. I think they were homeless. Joe said he was trying to get his life together. I told him to lean on God and turn to Him. I said that God desires to bless those who love Him and serve Him. We had a great conversation on the way to their destination about a lot of things. They seemed to have great need of basic things. Joe said that he prays often. I encouraged him to do so even more. When I dropped them off I asked for them names and said I would pray for them. Your prayers are certainly welcome for them, too.

Who are the dead in Christ who shall rise first in ( 1 Thess. 4:16)? When we die the soul and spirit are separated, the soul goes to the grave with the body and the spirit goes to the Lord to be judged. We are told in ( Heb. 4:12) "piercing even to the (dividing) sunder of soul and spirit" The word (dividing) is #3311; it means a separation or distribution, to part, to disunite, be difference between, divide. (The soul and spirit are separated, parted, disunited at death) First we look at the soul. ( Ps. 44:25) ( Ps. 49:15) ( Ps. 89:48) Then we have in ( Acts. 2:26-27) The word (hell) is #86; it means unseen, i.e. "Hades" or the place (state) of departed souls, grave, hell. Its also from #1492; (I only saw this tonight and it is an eye opener, literally). #1492; means to know, be aware, behold, consider, (have) know (-ledge) look (on) perceive, see, understand. This is saying the soul will see and have knowledge, and understand and be aware of its surroundings, is it not? Now we look at the spirit. Jesus Christ said in ( Luke. 23:46) "into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost". ( Acts. 7:58-60) v59 Stephen said "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Eccl. 12:7) Tells us "and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it" So to be (present with the Lord) in ( 2 Cor. 5:8) is speaking of the spirit, not the soul. Two verses after this we see the spirit goes to the Lord to be judged in ( 2 Cor. 5:10) The dead rise first in ( 1 Thess. 4:16)? "The Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout" and they will here His voice in ( John. 5:28-29) and shall come forth, the dead souls in Christ shall rise first to meet their spirit in the air which will be returning with Jesus Christ in ( 1 Thess. 4:13-17) v14 "even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him" the resurrection of the just in ( Luke. 14:14) The word (resurrection) is #386 it means rise from the dead. Those who believed in Jesus and are raised up the last day in ( Jn. 6:39-40,44).

    DearSSTeach,

Adam has given you a good answer, but it may not be what you are looking for. I just don't think we can truly explain why someone like your daughter has such major sufferings and others go through life like a breeze.

God has given yo a unique situation for you to learn to love patiently, compassionately, and selflessly with your daughter. May God strengthen you each day in these ways. Gpd brings about what he does for our future benefit, most often.

I pray tonight in the name of Jesus that your daughter will not have lost any brain function, that there was not further brain damage. Lord, Jesus, keep this daughter from having more seizures ensuring that she has the proper medications and dosages that are effective. Help this mother and father to stick together on this difficult road you have them to travel. Be near them and walk with them along the way, for they will need to lean on you and depend on you for strength, for endurance, and f aith. Amen.

    Hello Steven, welcome back.

Steven, I do not wish to rehash the discussion that was going on about the pre-trib rapture. But I will say that I was definitely not trying to stamp out anyone who believed in the pre-trib rapture. I intended to present what I knew from studying Scripture.

It seems that you have mischaracterized me here. I have studied Scripture all of my life. I have not read as much on "Christianity" as you seem to claim.

As I said before, you do not know how much I know and understand about Scripture, so your negative evaluation is unmerited. There are some biblical topics I understand better than others, but I am not as uninformed nor lack understanding as you seem to have implied. I don't think anyone on this forum has everything figured out.

As far as eschatology is concerned. I don't have answers to all of your questions about the millenneum nor all the OT prophetic passages. But I can honestly say that I do not think there is any biblical support for the pretrib-rapture. It is never explicitly taught anywhere. I also do not adhere to dispensationalism, which is an extra-biblical system that must be studied out side of the Bible to learn what it teaches. I do not find anywhere in the Bible that says that there are seven dispensation, nor that there are two distinct peoples of God, nor that Christians will spend eternity in heaven while Israelites will spend eternity on earth.

As to what happens after Jesus returns after the tribulation and we are either resurrected or transformed, I do not wish to speculate on this too much. When Jesus returns, I know that whatever He has planned to happen after that event will be great for believers and I trust Him in how He reigns.

For the future, I would just ask that you share your view in discussions without defaming me. By your response tonight, you don't seem to think that you were wrong in any way with what you posted concerning me, but I disagree.

For now, I am done with this topic.

Jesse Thank you for your response, though you did not provide any of the things that you accused me of. That comment that said "May God be with those who choose to be deceiving and hide the truth" was not directed at you. If you read my comments to GiGi then you know I told her some of my comments were not showing up. The one where I asked you to please show me where I was harassing or badgering anyone did not show on the main page, but did show on the thread where me and Spencer were having the discussion. Thats were you made the comments to Spencer about me harassing or badgering people, you even said this used to be a good place to have discussions about a month ago. Jesse you wrongfully accused me of several things and I didn't find anything in your 3 pages tonight that prove any of that true, or any apology for the accusations you made against me. The comment to you where I asked you to show me was on 3-18 it was the comment just before the one about hiding the truth. Now after these comments by you tonight I find you were accusing me of something else about continuing the argument for weeks. I was under the impression that we were having a discussion not arguing. I don't like arguing. Tonight you said a lot about we post things we believe to be the truth, that's true Jesse but when you were accusing me of being disrespectful, and harassing, badgering people that was your opinion (that was not truth) and has nothing to do with posting the truth from Scripture, does it? I only have one more thing to say, not to start this again but you said The Bible doesn't specifically say the rapture is pre or post trib. ( Mt 24:29-31) does say "Immediately after the tribulation" its just taken completely out of context by pre-trib believers. I do forgive you Jesse. Even though an apology would have made me think that maybe you really didn't mean all those hurtful things you said about me. But maybe you did.
