This like many other sayings of Jesus, touches on the main if not the CORE teaching of Jesus. The key words are HATH my COMMANDMENTS and KEEPETH them. Unlike the indoctrination by the Church that "our sins are all nailed onto the cross"; Jesus clearly stated that we MUST DO HIS COMMANDMENTS. It is only if we DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, we will be LOVED by Him and God. It is only then He will MANIFEST Himself. The most difficult of His Commandments is in Matthew 5.44 where He tells us to LOVE OUR ENEMY. Can any reader who reads this, love his/her enemy? I for sure find it difficult. This saying of Jesus is therefore of utmost importance as many other similar teachings. Look at this:

"Why call me lord, lord and not
do the things I tell you to do."

"Not everyone who calls me lord,
lord shall enter into the kingdom
    of heaven."

What is being practiced therefore is NOT JESUS' TRUE MESSAGE, but CHRISTIANITY MADE EASY which very much benefits the EVANGELICAL MOVEMENT and to some extent the material help to those who convert or say that they have accepted Him. I like to heat from everyone who cates to disagree.

IMO does not mean earn your way, only try to do the best you can according to his commandnents,& a willingness to obey. Not striving for boasymtung, but with a humbled heart, wanting to do the right thing g.We know we are not & will not be perfect except thru Hesus Christ. He also said in his last words on the cross. It Is Finished. That means he paid it all.W ed cannot outdo or do better. There is no more said rifice.Ehen we are his sheep, his followers,& believers,we wish to,& have a yearning to do his commandments. But we are saved by AMAZING GRACE.It is not earned. We are called by our spirit,& freely given his eternal love.
