  • George Francis on Psalms 55:20 - 9 years ago
The only one friend with whom a covenant was made with David was Johnathan. In every covenant made, it was in Johnathan 's favour. Out of the five times Saul tried to kill David, on three of those times when Saul got really close to David 's hideout, the only one who knew exactly where David was hiding .....was Johnathan. "Jonathan loved him as his own soul. " What I find puzzling is that it does not say anywhere in the scriptures that "David loved Johnathan ". Therefore, I am asking, isn 't it possible that this person referred to in Psalms:55:12: "For it was not an enemy that reproached me then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me then I would have hid myself from him: Psalms:55:13: But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. " 55:21: In addition, "The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. " The only familiar friend or covenant maker the scriptures associated with David is Johnathan.
