Vs.1 The name "AGUR" is a fanciful name for Solomon, meaning to harvest ie recieved among the SAGES; meaning to have a good taste, wise and prudent; and also medicinal value an herb for healing and seasoning.The son of Jakeh; meaning "to obey". it was spake unto "ITHIEL" meaning God has Arrived!! and "UCAL" meaning to devour, (a fancy name)- FANCY; meaning to believe without evidence, to visualize.
Considering all the meanings of all the proper names, from the spokesman to the 2 hearers, how that all denotes fidelity; it is shocking to read the following 2 verses.- i'm brutish, no understanding, have not learned wisdom nor knowledge of the holy!!! vss.2&3 -- Wow !
Could this be a pattern, that we live many years going through learning, growing, trials, heartaches, laboring, exhaustion, relational strifes and diverse pressures, to come to the acknowledgement, O Lord i messed up! I'm embarrased,brutish,ignorant and lacking. Hey yall this is ch.30-- the end of the book and this is coming out now!! My heart feels tender cause i can relate. When i consider the last 33 years of being a Spirit filled believer,dad,husband,and a friend "O how i've failed"! I have also been brutish and ignorant. Maybe an insciption of "A Hard Working Idiot", would be fitting on my headstone.
The hope from it all is in vs.4- Its in the "WHO" and in the "WHATS" His son's name!! His name is Father God and His son's name is Jesus. And His word tells us in ps.103;10-14 - He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. I'm so glad i know His son's name.
