    Hello Lois, To further clarify John 1 1 states "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ". Verse 10 "He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not ". Who was in the world? Jesus Christ. Verse 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. See Jesus who is the Word was in the world, he made the world, and the Word was God. In Genesis 1 1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,
