    Dear Elizabeth. I am glad u understand the deity of Christ, that He is in fact God. Here though He is on earth during that time when He came through the virgin 's womb to live as a man, and was tempted in all points like we are, and never sinned what is called His active obedience . So as a man, Christ entered the holy city riding upon a young donkey, fulfilling Old Testament prophecy Matthew gives many examples of this as his gospel is intended to present Messiah Jesus as King of the Jews.
