A close family member of mine , who is also a diagnosed psychopath , has viciously turned against me and is trying to defame my character to any and everyone who will listen .
This is very distressing and hurtful to me as I've been especially kind to them in their troubles for almost three years now .
Now that my dad died recently , this person sees me as vulnerable and is moving in for the kill ( metaphorically ) .
I'm not afraid , just hurt about it . Time and time again , God teaches me that I can't trust humans . I need to learn this lesson , maybe we all do ?
Only God is good and faithful and honest and His love for us is pure . We must trust Him and only Him . For sure , He will use other humans to help us , I've seen that many times in my life . We need to recognise that when something good happens to us , it's from God , not from people , God uses people to bless us and help us but the blessings and kindnesses are coming from Him , not from the actual people . Give God the glory always . Only He sustains and supports us , there is only His love . Only His love is pure a true from everlasting to everlasting .
I am not afraid of this person , just sad about the whole situation , and I take their aggression towards me as a message , telling me I need to keep away from them and cling tighter to my Maker .
I am sorry to hear that this relationship is going so badly, I will be praying for you and the others involved. I too have family members (siblings) who are hostile to God and to me. The relationship with these three sisters has been difficult for decades. I just decide to be kind to them whenever we are together and to avoid too much contact with them as they are so toxic to me and a few of my brothers. These relationships do try us, but God, as you said so well, is who we lean on and rely on and desire to please more than any others in our lives, some of whom just cannot be pleased no matter how kind we are.
May your holidays be filled with the wonder of the Son of God humbling Himself to become man yet still being all God. He did this to save us who have been given faith to believe in our Lord Jesus unto salvation that lasts forever.
