Our friend Jeff passed away last night from brain cancer. I want to thank those who joined us in prayers for him. I know that God is good and that he sends His Spirit to those who are elect even in times when they are under the deep influence of pain meds to minister to them in salvific ways, bringing to their souls the knowledge they had learned throughout their life from the witness of Scriptures and believers. So I am confident that God has done what is truly right in Jeff. If he is elect of God, he is now with the Lord. If he is not elected to salvation, then he will be judged by God. In all things, we can praise God for His wisdom, goodness, righteousness, love, grace, and mercy, among other things, and so, I do so now even as we are sad to know our friend is no longer with us in this life.

    Thank you LaTonya,

Yes, what is in store for him is truly in the Lord's hands now and we can trust that God's knowledge, wisdom, and judgments are all perfect.

But, we hope that we can be able to support his wife, Linda, and children, Nikki and Chad and grands at this time. Hopefully, we'll be reached out to when they are able.

Apart from God's mercy and grace we have no hope.

    God bless you.

    S. spencer, so glad you can spend these days with your brother. The vigils we keep for others is important. My friend of 25 years had a stroke at 38. I spent many evenings with her in rehab, just scooching in next to her in bed and being there with her when she felt so broken. Now her husband has been in the hospital since the fall. He has leukemia and has exhausted chemo.

He finally got a bone marrow transplant before Christmas and his body has adapted to it well. He did get pneumonia recently, so is on oxygen as he has been a life long smoker. At first the prognosis was that he was not going to make it, but now he will most likely be able to go home in a few months. His daughter has visited him every day at the hospital, as my friend is not able to drive the hour+ one way every day. She has been p raying for him and when she talks to him and he reports improvement she tells him that she prayed for him. She told him he could pray for himself, too and he said he has been. he said he wants to go to church together when he gets home. He has been very atheistic for so long and has resisted turning to the Lord for as long as I have known him. So, sometimes it takes something like cancer and pneumonia to turn someone to God.

I hope your brother is comfortable and knows that you are there with him. Thanks for the reminder to pray for him and you and your family.
