I am just curious and confused about the spirit world. Is there a spirit world? Do we all go there immediately after death? What is the spirit world like? Etc. Etc. Etc.?

Ephesians 6, says there is an invisible Evil spirit world. Google Armor of God and find out what each piece of the Armor does.

Nothing works real well unless we have a working knowledge of the Bible. How did Jesus defeat the devil on his 40 day fast? He used Scriptures. The Sword of the Lord is TWO-EDGED. It slices going in and slices coming out. Demons run from people (and women) who know how to use the Sword. It pleases the Lord, for us to know how to use what He gave us: to be used defensively and offensively. Protect all that concerns you, and those you love. Don't lay down and just take it; get up and fight back. If Satan is trying to take your kids, your family your friends, your job, fight back! Satan should be taking nerve medicine the minute you wake up and your knees hit the floor in prayer :D

We can often live in peace with God, at the center of our lives-right now. I don't know why we resist it at times. Life ebbs and flows like waves on a beach.

Spiritual discernment helps us to know what is driving our lives right now. If it's chaos and ruin: it's Satan. If it's daily routines that have to be accomplished: it's us. If it's harmony, peace in the Holy Spirit, time well spent in Gods presence: it's our Lord.

If we'll just read the fruit right, we'll know who's driving the car.

I used to come in from work and everything with a voice was screaming: cats, dog, opinionated cockatiel, my spouse, each kid, family on phone, etc. you want to hide in the bathroom but it doesn't help. A quick prayer for order in the universe helps.

I'm 70 now, not so many screaming at me now. Ecclesiastes 3. We all wear many hats in our lives. But comes a day when it's too quiet. Enjoy now.

    Dear John,

I would say there is a physical realm within creation and a spiritual realm within creation. The physical realm is made of matter and can be sensed by our senses. All animals and humans reside in the physical realm. The spiritual realm is immaterial, Angels, cherub, seraphs, (holy and fallen) and all creatures God created to reside in this realm with Him. Spiritual beings can cross into the physical realm, but those in the physical realm cannot pass into the spiritual realm unless given to them by God, such as visions of the prophets, Saul's being caught up to heaven and returning back to the physical, etc. We are instructed in the Bible not to try to initiate contact with the spiritual world with the exception of coming to Him through Christ and the working of the Holy Spirit.

These spiritual beings are powerful and have many more capabilities than we do. They can travel through time and space quickly. They can change their spirit form into a physical form that can be seen and touched. (Angels talked and ate with Abraham). We do need to understand that, although we will have conflicts in this life with other humans, the evil beings in the spiritual realm war against the holy angels and the saints all the time. Each spiritual being can only be in one place at one time, unlike God, Wo is everywhere present. So, Satan can only attack one person at a time. But the many fallen beings that followed him in rebellion against God are described as myriads. So, it is most likely there is at least one demonic being per every human alive on the earth, even today, with 6 billion people alive. The good news is that the holy angels outnumber the fallen ones by 3:1. So we have more strength from the holy angels to fight battles for us as God wills them to do so. We are instructed in Ephesians how to prepare for these battles between us physical beings and the evil spiritual ones. It is always good to review these instructions often so we can always be prepared.

    John,

As Suze said, you will get opinions and some of these opinions have been passed down from many generations. Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in: earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Not sure what you are thinking spirit world? In scripture there are devils/demons on this earth that cannot be seen but can occupy mortal beings, people/animals, Matthew 8. There are angels that cannot be seen or can take on physical form and be seen and interact with humans, as in Hebrews 13:2 and more.

If you are thinking human spirits, you must study with prayer and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Much of what is believed and taught is based on the human soul is immortal. Can that be found in the word of God?

This soul immortality I guess goes back as far as the serpent in the garden. Many religions accept the soul is immortal, Socrates, then Plato, and then Augustine's theology became standard for the Church. The definition of death became the separation of the soul from the body. Or does immortality come at resurrection, 1 Corinthians 15:54?

This is just a few things to inspire your study, my opinion is meaningless, let the word of God with the Holy Spirit be your teacher.

    God bless,

I wouldn't call it a spirit world but I understand your question. The majority of modern churches teach there's no Heaven after death for the elect. This is a lie from Satan. Now, under the Old Covenant those who died in God had been for a time in Hades (the paradise side of Sheol)...such as we understand in part from Solomon

Ecclesiastes 12:7 - Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

These verse describe not only our being born again in Salvation but equally that God gives those washed in His Blood an eternity with him (Heaven...like or lump it)

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There are two sides of the grave after death: From the unsaved there's Hell and the save eternal life with God

    Christ warns...

Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

So, I wouldn't necessarily say Spirit world as the Holy Spirit lives in every born again believer. So, we know in part of that already. The body can be injured, hurt and pass away. But the soul cannot die and has only one of two destinies after death. That's why Salvation is so very important:

    John 3:16-18

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Hi John , you asked a big question there smiley face , and if everyone on this site answered it for you you would get a lot of different opinions . The best advice I can give you is to read the whole Bible for yourself . I can tell you what I believe which is , that those people who die in their sins are just dead , gone forever , people who have entered into a covenant relationship with God will be ressurescted and judged when Christ returns . Those are my beliefs . There are many on here who will disagree with me and I'm fine with that . Please read it all for yourself and enjoy it .
