I have recently come to understand that I should keep the Sabbath, not for salvation but because Jesus taught it and God has spoken to me about it. Does anyone have a comment on this?

My family started keeping the Sabbath about 2 months and the things we have witnessed is amazing. God has poured His Spirt upon us and our understanding. He has opened our eyes to the real TRUTH and where the church has taught errors and taking scriptures out of context. Also, write out the scriptures, word for word and you will be amazed what will be revealed to you. God Bless.

Yes we are to keep the sabbath holy yet that can be a different day for each of us. as long as we do take a day to rest God doesn't care the day that is for He knows some of us work on Sunday or Saturday in these day and times and He isn't going to keep us from heaven for resting on a Wednesday or any other day. He sent His son to die for our sins therefore we NO longer sacrifice animals or follow old testament laws because those were written for the Jews back then. NOW we merely Love God with all our heart, mind and soul and our neighbor as ourselves. Keeping every day holy by breathing, living and sharing Christ in all we do.!

Wow hold on I never said Salvation depends on keeping the Sabbath.i said for ME keeping the 10 commandments is a truth that God has impressed on ME not for salvation but because he said if you love me keep my commandments. Blessings

Understandable! God impresses on everyone differently according to what His plan for them is. sometimes I ramble, mixing my words and say things I didn't mean to come out that way, forgive me. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord's Day ( Revelation 1:10) celebrates the New Creation, with Christ as our resurrected Head. We are not obligated to follow the Mosaic Sabbath-resting, but are now free to follow the risen Christ-serving. God bless always

Are there any other verses you could site concerning the Lords day? I would love to know more about that. Thank you

The Lords day as in sabbath or the second coming? Yet my last reply to him was merely to point out that we no longer have to follow old testament laws. Follow 10 commandments yes or we wouldn't be Christian and shouldn't do anything wrong. Although we read the whole bible, Once Jesus died for all our sins (past, present & future) and resurrected for our justification ("just if I'd" never sinned) then all we need to do is "believe that" by faith.! God will guide us through the rest of our lives (His will for us). i.e. Follow your heart for it's God given intuition (some believe, an angel beside you) guiding us to do what He wills. Not listening to satan telling you that your not good enough or put it off till tomorrow for tomorrow isn't promised. Everything is in Gods time and for His glory. The more we listen the better our lives will be because when we don't listen that is when satan takes the opportunity to jump in and devour everything around us little by little. Sorry, did I ramble again? I use "Duck Duck Go", not google, were I get a lot of my answers too.

Keeping the Holy day of rest is one of the 10 commandments. The day of rest is the LAST day of the week, not the first. The holy day of rest was created for the children of The Most High GOD, the children wasn't created for the Holy day. Read a little bit of scripture everyday. Even if you don't understand it, keep going. Don't give up. Pray and ask for understanding. In time you'll begin to understand more and more of what you're reading. I suggest you start with new testament, the book of John. After you start craving more of Our Heavenly Father's word, and you will. I recommend you read the old testament as well. The first 5 books in scripture are where you'll fine GOD's instructions for life, including keeping the Sabbath day holy. Remember the old testament and the new were always meant to be kept as one whole, just as the Father and Son are one, so is the whole scripture. YAH bless you and may MESSIAH and The Holy Spirit be with you and teach you as you push forward to HIS truth!
