    who is Melchisedec in Hebrews 5:10
  • GiGi - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Hello, Believer. Historically, Christians have believed that Jesus is eternally God, never having been created by the Father, One with the Father and the Spirit yet a distinct Person within the Godhead. Also, historically, Christians have believed that Jesus is equal to the Father and the Spirit, all possessing the divine nature to the infinite perfection and fullness.

    Your view that Jesus is a created being infiltrated the church in the early centuries by a man named Arius. It was refuted and determined to be heresy. This viewpoint has popped up across the centuries. and been repeatedly refuted. It is called Arianism.

    I do not want to include here my own Scriptural refutation of Arianism as the site Pulpit and Pen does a good job of it. I googled Scriptural refutation of Arianism to find this site. I encourage you to check this out.

    In reply to cheryl dunhams question: since melchisedec had no earthly (father ) and no earthly ( mother ) and no earthly (beginning of days ) or ( end of life ) but was ( made ) like unto the ( son of god !! ) it is fair to say that he just ( is ).

    which is to say : he is beneath the great ( i - am !!! )

    but above we humans of ( birth !! ) because he was ( made !!! )

    so he has to fall under the catorgory of (just - is !!! )

    Heb 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

    Abraham never tithes to anyone but GOD! Break the word down into Hebrew; Melchi means King; sedec means the just. Melchisedec means King of the just (Elect) there is only one!!

    Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

    There can only be one begotten Son of GOD. CHRIST Who is the only priest for eternity.

    Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    The scripture at the end of Hebrews 6 and continuing into chapter seven is referencing the account in Genesis 14 where Melchisedec appears (with no reference to his origin) to bless Abraham. Melchisedec is a pattern for Christ's priesthood because he didn't come out of the tribe of Levi. The scripture says he is the priest of Salem. Salem eventually became know as Jerusalem. So Melchisedec is a good pattern for Christ being the High Priest of the heavenly Jerusalem (end of Hebrews 12). Take time to ponder Hebrews 7 and the comparisons that are made in it.
