If you stride for the Love of Jesus the love that he wants you to have his love how do you deal with that you do not like suffering in this world I know that it's done for a reason I just don't like people suffering if I'm doing this incorrect I apologize thank you

Hi John. Just to add to Kay's very good points, something which does help both in identifying with the sufferer & giving of yourself to the one in pain, is doing what the Lord puts on your heart to be an instrument of blessing.

We can never hope or expect to help every suffering person/child in the world, but by understanding the reason for suffering (as Kay has shared), we can take it further in expressions of faith & love. No doubt you pray for those you know who maybe going through various trials (family, friends, the street dwellers in your city, single parents) & those in other countries where famine, wars, disease may be rampant. When we come expectantly to God in prayer, we can truly believe that He is ministering to the hurting in ways that may be beyond our imagination.

If we're able, we can help practically to those we can physically contact, whether in gifts of food, clothing, or even a listening ear & a guiding hand. I write this not just to pacify your heart, but also that you may know that whatever contribution you make to help others at home or abroad, given in the spirit of godly love & concern, will bring the desired results. There are so many people & organizations that are heavily involved in this very matter, because like you, the thought of men, women & children in pain is so disturbing. Now if everyone can have such concern & practically help others, so much suffering in the world will be relieved. And when believers do so, helping others in the Name of the Lord, the Lord's Name is magnified & the witness of Divine Love becomes evident to them & their ears & hearts are open.

As has been said, pain & suffering will always be with us - our sin & corrupt nature guarantees that - but expressions of the Love of God in practical ways will help many & even be the catalyst for the suffering heart to be open as the Spirit leads His servants to them. Often we're just one small cog in God's great ministry to the practically & spiritually needy.

    John

Sorry to hear about that ex wife is in a nursing home. You being there for her, caring for her is a blessing-not only for her but for you. Though I understand it is not easy you will not regret it. Gods peace be with you and your family.

The subject of suffering in the world is something that we humans struggle with, so for sure, your struggle, John, is a very common one. :)

There are a couple of thoughts I'd like to share, if I may.

First of all, when I see suffering, it reminds me of the seriousness of sin. From the beginning, sin causes death. God warned our first parents that if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they would surely die; and they surely did die spiritually for their disobedience.

We too, learn in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. It is sin that brings death and misery into this world. When I see the headlines - they scream out, "SIN!" What misery sin brings upon lives! The sinner himself or herself is injured by it, and most often - others are injured by it! Sin brings its own punishment, and it always has consequences!

Secondly, our Good God allow suffering to be his 'sheep dogs' that often drive wandering souls back to Him. David said in Psalm 119:67, "Before I was AFFLICTED, I went astray." When everything is going well - how quickly we wander far from God in our vain confidence! Remember - when Israel prospered and 'waxed fat', THEN 'they kicked against the Lord" in idolatry!!

Thirdly, the problems and suffering of this world help us to long for the new heavens and earth, wherein righteousness will dwell. The suffering here makes us wish for 'there'!! The suffering 'here' hinders us from desiring to put our roots down here, and hinders us from making this sad world our 'all in all", which is a BLESSING! How tragic for those who love this world and the things in it! It is all a delusion, and it is all passing away!

May the Lord help you understand the good that can be found even in suffering, John. :)

    Blessings!
