Verse 12 mentions that Eli's sons didn't know the Lord. They knew about him but they didn't come to know Him personally and they didn't let that knowledge affect them.

To expand on your point, Eli's sons definitely appear to me to be examples of Phillipians 3:18-19 with their insistence on taking the best parts of the Lord's offerings for themselves and after resisting rebuke even creating a cult of temple prostitutes leading the Lord to give them over to destruction. The loss of the Arc of the Covenant in addition to their deaths shows that their corruption of the Lord's worship brought guilt upon many more in Israel than just themselves.

    18. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

It did effect them, their household & their nation. Like all leaders that ignore GOD & HIS Laws.

    1Samuel 2:30-36, 1Samuel 3:13-14, 1Samuel 4:10-22.

However blessing when we obey Deuteronomy 11:27, Deuteronomy 30:15-20, Jeremiah 7:23, Hebrews 5:9,
