    It is important to remember that King David was a man after God's heart, and as we know the Judgment is given to the son, so david commanded solomon to execute judgment over his enimies. another aspect is, if David would have not awakened solomon about those enimies, solomon would have run the risk of being killed. Praise God that leads us always in triumph.
