Jessie, re your comment on Paul praying in the spirit and praying with his mind.

Read from 1Cor 14:2, "The one speaking in a tongue, does NOT speak to men but TO GOD, for none hears (in the sense of understands) but in the SPIRIT he speaks mysteries. So Paul, when he speaks in a tongue to God, given by the Holy Spirit, he speaks mysteries. (mysteries are things that are not known - understood)

v4- "the one speaking in a tongue (unlearned) builds himself up. This is where Jude 1:20 comes in. He builds himself up in his spirit, where his most holy faith is situated.

He goes on to explain that in a meeting of believers it is important for all to understand what is spoken; so, if an unknown is spoken publicly in a gathering their needs to be an interpretation given. But if there is no one who has such a gift then the one show speaks in an unknown tongue should do so quietly without interrupting anyone's concerntration to understand the lingua franca.

Paul did not rebuke them for speaking in unlearned langauges given by the Holy Spirit, but only because they were disorderly in their expression of that gift; they were excited without consdiering others present.

so he says - "Seek to build each OTHER up".

Then in v 14 he says For if I pray in a tongue (given by the Holy Spirit; he is speaking about gifts given by the Holy Spirit not languages learned by men), my spirit prays, but my mind (my 'nous' - understanding) is unfruitful.

And finally in v 28 - "And if there is NO interpreter (one who has been given the gift of interpretating a tongue from the Holy Spirit) let him be silent (inaudible) in the assembly, and let him speak to himself (build his own faith up) and to God."

Paul is talking about gifts given by the Holy Spirit.

The ability to speak in 'tongues' is for private edification - unless there is an interpretor present - in which case all can benefit from the interpretation given.

    peace in Jesus

Jude 20 you mentioned, one aspect of prayer is like to emphasize is HOLY faith , if there is any tint of sin , forget about praying in the Holy Spirit . Let us all ask God like David did , search my heart oh God if there be any errors within . Not exact words but you know the thought . Be blessed

    Hallo again

The references to Romans have nothing to do with this. Just my reading today that I have shed light on.

Among other things in chapter 16 v 27 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.

Then I remembered that blessed Paul had a hard time writing. And this Tertius wants to have his name written down in the letter book and mentions it :)

And I have been on the road with Jesus for 50+ years and never reflected on this. Bless everyone in the Love of Christ that we give to each other every day. Amen. Love u all in Jesus Christ.

Hi dear, thank you for the reminder Ian you are absolutely right and Serve Jesus With Your Whole Body. For all of it belongs to Him. Romans chapter 15-16.

There is great confusion about this, even when one speaks with other tongues. And that among the believers. It's so nice to open your mouth, it's also nice to show the gifts you have. But because of fear of man, many are sitting with services that the devil has simply bound in a church. Often the Holy Spirit has been left out of a meeting because people simply do not allow the Spirit to speak! This is a shame and not God's Will among us believers.

With us, love should not live in fear.

To make this right, the meetings of the church need to open up to the Spirit of God and All the various gifts will flow in the church.

So think about it all, that you must not shut the Holy Spirit in.

    Jesus cries about it.

All meetings that are created for believers and NOT believers must make a difference. Because when there is a public meeting, it is important to show Order and not Disorder.

The first thing an infant encounters should not be tongues. Is equal to confusion that may never be corrected. Unfortunately. I know this because I have some friends who will never join a meeting. They are sitting at home with a,

s m a l l Jesus. And never get to know the services and the various gifts Christians can receive in the congregation. Is not that a shame for Christianity?

When you come to a church, it should be Free, not bound by fear of man and here is the Pastor's responsibility to throw out the spiritual obstacle that will come every day, several times a day

So in this case, All Pastors have a great responsibility surely greater than many are aware of! For you must let the church live with all the perfect newborns and elders who have never been able to unfold, neither in spirit nor in church. Remember we are all Jesus' Bride. And what was it that He was afraid to face when He comes again? God Bless u in HisHisHolyNameJesus
