    Salvation Message: (Part 3)

Most all of us would so easily make the choice to take the rope. But why is it so hard to take what God is offering, our salvation from sin, and eternal life with Him in heaven?

If we believe in heaven and we want to go there someday, because the alternative is not so great, why would we not take His offer of salvation? We would take the rope so easy, no brainer, but we hesitate when it comes to the most important thing, our salvation from sin.

You see, the bible tells us in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. We are headed toward this huge sinkhole called death, and we don't know when that day is coming. One day, that sinkhole will collapse below our feet. It could be today, it could be tomorrow, a week from now, or several years away.

In our natural human way of thinking, we always think it's the latter, or several years away. The problem is that we really don't know when it will be. But when the world collapses below your feet, like that big sinkhole we are all headed for, wouldn't you want someone there to grab you and keep you from falling to the point of no return? Even though Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, it also says but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You see, we can't save ourselves. Therefore, we need a Savior. God does not want us to fall into that sinkhole. He wants to save us and keep us from falling. Without Him, we will fall.

Romans 10:13 says for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. This is a promise. It doesn't say might be saved, but will be saved. God loves us and does not want us to perish in our sins, therefore He has provided us a way out, a lifeline, a rope because we are drowning in our sinful state.
