From the time that Jesus performed His first miracle, (turning water into wine)-

to the time that the last of the original Apostles died (I think John was the last)

miracles were performed by Jesus or in His name. After Jesus ascended into Heaven, and the Holy Spirit descended to earth at the first Pentecost- the miracles started winding down. All those miracles were a one-time event.

At the end of Paul's life he couldn't even heal anyone anymore.

So the question is: since there are no more miracles to be expected, will saying to someone wicked, "The Lord rebuke you" do any good???

Y'all kind of missed the point. If someone does harm to you, whether physically, mentally, spiritually, financially or whatever, will saying "The Lord rebuke you" put an immediate stop to them???? If there are still miracles to be had, will saying "The Lord rebuke you" keep you from further harm????

Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare you for the gift of discerning of "spirits" at work in situations. Pray to be anointed. Luke 4:18

    Jude 1:25

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be GLORY and MAJESTY, DOMINION and POWER, both now and EVER. Amen.

JESUS gave his disciples HIS AUTHORITY to act and pray in Jesus Name. As we follow Jesus the Holy Spirit will prepare us for ministry.

David was insulted by Goliaths' taunts against calling God; a NAMELESS God. He killed Goliath with a rock and took his head off; and took Goliaths' sword.

We have to read All the Old Stories. There is Gods Perfect Will and then Gods permissive Will.

Our Weapons are MIGHTY TO THE PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS. The Bible says WE ARE PRIESTS AND KINGS. Look up all these verses for starters ok? Chronicles-and Kings.

It's the Holy Spirits ministry to EQUIP the Saints FOR SPIRITUAL Warfare. If you aren't willing to learn it, then as someone once challenged me.. "don't mess with college material before you learn the BASICS. Now I know how he felt. God spoke through him. I had a pity/angry party, and then I pursued the Lord with all of my strength. Every day. I wasn't Envious. I was INSULTED like David was by Goliath!!

Demons have tried to stop me all my life; or kill me. So I say "why God won't you rescue me?! He's not gonna give you rattlesnakes till you learn to tame the firery Tongue of DOUBTS (James). Saul tried to kill David for years. GET FED UP WITH SATAN HURTING PEOPLE YOU ARE TRYING TO HELP.

The Gospels and Jesus's Example, in spiritual warfare; plus Eph.6: is where we find our WEAPONS. Mighty through God, to the PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS. Are you a priest or ready to learn through the Holy Spirit; how to kill the giants?

Gigi, did you listen to Iverna Thompkins videos on youtube? Go get yourself on fire and learn of JESUS's AUTHORITY. David's strength: he praised God exceedingly. I talk to HS all day long.

He teaches of JESUS. I never get tired of it.

I think we are to bravely rebuke evil people who oppose us. It takes courage and faith. I think we often underestimate what God is willing to do for us if we would just ask and/or obey His Word. I pray that God would put courage and faith into the hearts, minds, and wills of all believers to be able to take a stand against evil, when it comes at someone or someone else. In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Victor!

God is a God of miraculous! (it seems to us) He can do anything, except evil or be tempt anyone to do evil! He just wills it and it happens. I have experienced miracles in my own life and have friends that have also. I think the difference is that the original apostles are no longer alive and the church has been established through them by the work of the Holy Spirit.

I am not one to pursue spectacular spiritual experiences, but do experience the power of God in my life in so many ways. If He leads me to pray for someone to be healed, I lay hands on them and pray; if He leads me reach out and and speak to someone about Him and the Word, I do; if He leads me to think, speak, or do something, I do it. I leave the working of God's power to the Holy Spirit, as I, on my own can do nothing, but wit faith, all things are possible, as Jesus said.

Dgjot Its a walk with God its not a analytical do or do that, we do the word and let God do the work.

The only set rule is to love god with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as

yourself, whatever else is needed God will show you.

Hello, regarding miracles, I believe that praying to God for something is asking for a miracle. James 5:16. I do, however, believe that God works differently today compared to how He interacted with people from the times before Jesus's sacrifice. And I believe Jesus is the difference. I personally have never seen anything like the grandiose miracles listed in the Bible, but I have definitely seen answered prayer miracles.
  • Rick - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hi Adam I personally know a person who was born with teeth that were diseased and prayed to the Father

to fix them and one morning woke up with a new mouth full that were perfect. I also met a woman who was

ministered to died, they called it later in the hallway waiting autopsy sat up and walked! So you tell me.
  • Adam - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Rick,

I've witnessed miracles. You wrote 'you tell me' as if maybe you assumed I don't believe in them. Grandiose miracles I have in mind are the million(s) of Jews leaving Egypt, parting of the Red Sea, Noah's Ark, Ark of the Covenant defeating armies, Jesus calming the sea. I haven't witnessed any miracles on that large of scale and I don't know of anyone else who has.

The only one I can think of that may come close is Israel is surrounded by muslim countries who want to destroy them, but it remains protected.

Brother That's reading not eyewitness but that's not the point people try to tell me no miracles happen anymore

my biggest problem with that is how many thousands through the ages have been born again which to me is the

miracle of all miracles a person who has never literally seen Jesus Christ has just been told or read or God intervened

in there lives we believed and received His Gift of Holy Spirit and communicate with the creator of The universe the

God who is the author of Life. That to me is a miracle! Not Knocking you Brother Just sharing God Bless
  • FAITH DEFEATS UNBELIEF if you are serious. - In Reply - 2 years ago
I had a huge healing the day I was saved! And numerous healings since then (36 years ago). Sorry, but my Bible reads that Jesus is the same,

    yesterday

    today

    tomorrow

Our FAITH has to be exercised in order to even be receptive to be healed. Unbelief is a killer of faith. Period. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

Your head has an eye gate, ear gate, and a mouth gate. Your eyes See the Word of God, your ears hear the Word spoken,

Your mouth is going to either agree with what you heard and saw, and Speak It, OR

Your mouth is going to stop healing because of UNBELIEF.

Our faith has to reach out and touch God. He spoke it. I heard it. I believe it. I RECEIVE IT INTO MY BODY. Hallelujah!!

Generally, faithless speaking destroys what the eyes and ears heard. Faith is active.

It's not sit in your chair and expect the Holy Spirit to step over your unbelief and do something.

    Testimony of a home healing:

I had rented a carpet shampooer that had to go back the same day. I also had a migraine headache. Felt like my head was exploding. I had just gotten a new book (Healing the Sick, by T.L. Osborn). I had read 3 chapters while laying flat on my back wit pain!

My 8 year old son races comes in up the stairs and racing towards the door and I called him over and asked him to lay his hands on my head and Pray for me. He lays his hand on my head and says, "Jesus heal this headache", and he bolts out the door.

I'm laying flat and I am confronted with a thought, I have to do something now. What?!

I move my head a little, side to side. No pain. I'm thinking I gotta do something else. I check the book; faith is action. I waste a few mins more.

I stand up. No pain. Then I shook my head side to side!! No pain. I was praising the Lord as I started cleaning the hallways and stairs! I never had another migraine ever. Healed by the Lord with a 5 second prayer!

Faith is an adventure you are going to love! Jesus still heals_TODAY.

Dear Faith Defeats Unbelief You hit a nail on the head you can say I believe but until you move on what you confess

then its nothing but mental accent. I met a man years ago that was perfectly healthy but in talking to him he confessed

to me he was not going to live another year. I shared with him several times about changing his believing because what

you absolutely believe or disbelieve will happen, because all your actions will be based on that confession. Nine months

later this man died, days after a complete physical examination given letting him know he was healthy.

If you want deliverance by God than change your actions to line up with Gods Word because His Word is His

Will, God Doesn't Change Man Does. P.S. JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER.
  • Rick - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hi Dgjot The reason near the end of Paul's life he didn't do many miracles had nothing to do with His walk it had everything to do with the people he taught the word to and there unbelief. They all walked away from him is what

it says in 2 Timothy 1:15 and Paul witnessed to all Asia except for very few Timothy being one. In the Gospels in

Jesus Christ hometown area of Galilee and nazareth he could not do many miracles because of there unbelief Mathew

    13:54-58.

They believed he was an illegitimate child so how can he do these things. If someone doesn't believe God can

work the miraculous than God hands are tied, because all actions and thought will dictate outcome. Somethings to

    consider.

Hello Dgjot Many years ago when I just got born again I worked as a frame carpenter on houses and there was

another guy there that absolutely had a hideous personality. So one day we were working together and everything

I was doing he would come behind and mess it up, so I confronted him on this and he turns and looks at me and

said I hate your father. This man never met my Physical father, then it hit me who he was talking about God. The next

day he was in my face so I calmly walked away and asked God to do something because this guy was unprofitable

to the whole situation, no one else was in the frame of the house and immediately part of it fell apart on top of this

man, two days later he came back on the job and he was a different person. If that's getting rebuked or backed off

it worked he never bothered me again.
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hi Dgjot I personally will go with Mark 16:17-20 it says those who believe, in my life I have had many times

the miraculous occur why its says those who believe. I've been a believer for 47 years so I'm no one special but

trust me signs miracles and wonders didn't end in the apostolic age, this the deliverance available in Christ.
  • Grace - In Reply - 2 years ago
I disagree with you. Miracles still happen today. I think this is the question of the day. When Jesus returns, will he find faith on the earth?
  • Rick - In Reply - 2 years ago
Grace Amen!!!!!! Both had them and seen them and because of what Christ has done expect him to work.
  • Michael the Archangel in charge of Moses's body - In Reply on Jude 1 - 2 years ago
    Wesley's Notes for JUDE 1:9

1:9 Yet Michael - It does not appear whether St. Jude learned this by any revelation or from ancient tradition. It suffices, that these things were not only true, but acknowledged as such by them to whom he wrote. The archangel - This word occurs but once more in the sacred writings, # 1Thess 4:16|. So that whether there be one archangel only, or more, it is not possible for us to determine. When he disputed with the devil - At what time we know not. Concerning the body of Moses - Possibly the devil would have discovered the place where it was buried, which God for wise reasons had concealed. Durst not bring even against him a railing accusation - Though so far beneath him in every respect. But simply said, (so great was his modesty!) The Lord rebuke thee - I leave thee to the Judge of all.

People's Bible Notes for Jude 1:9

Jude 1:9 Michael the archangel. Michael is brought forward as a contrast with those who speak evil of dignities. He is called by Daniel "the Great Prince" (Da 12:1), and here "the archangel", or head angel. He disputed about the body of Moses. The reference is not to a statement of the Bible, but to a Jewish tradition which held that the burial place of Moses was placed under the charge of Michael. Durst not bring against him a railing accusation. Yet in addressing the devil, a fallen angel, he did not rail at him, but only said, "The Lord rebuke thee".
