Can you loose your salvation? I have heard so many different answers on this.

    Thanks!
  • No one - In Reply - 2 years ago
No you will not loose your salvation. If you are really save. That you received Jesus Christ as your personal saviour repent to him. The Holy Spirit will work on you to change your ways.

Salvation is a gift from God.

    Ephesians 2:8-9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I know we still do something that is not good doesnt mean that you will loose your salvation by doing the wrong thing. The good thing that we have the assurance to go with the Lord and repent the sin that we do for our wrong doings and the Holy Spirit will help us to change and to turn away from the bad things. The assurance of being saved receiving the salvation of God.

    Godbless.

Sasha A major point to keep in mind about God what we believe about God or have been taught about his word dictates our actions based on that belief system. In other words if someone says do this and God will bless you and it doesn't work its not Gods fault because if its according to His Word it has to work. Signs miracles and wonders follow those who believe but it must be accurate or doubt fear and frustration will defeat the individual because of either ignorance or wrong doctrine based on mans idea not power of scripture better stated as IT IS WRITTEN. The same word spoken and acted on by believers used properly will produce the same results today as they did in the bible why because God Hasn't Changed, Jesus Christ the same yesterday Today and Tomorrow. God Bless

Curious The book of Romans is written to the body of Christ people born again in the church now in Chapter 8:1 ir starts out those whoa walk spiritually no condemnation then near the end from 30-39 the point is for the believer nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ because we are separated by God called out by God redeemed by God made righteous that isn't license to sin or break fellowship, we are talking about what God did in us through Jesus Christ not what we did to ourselves.

We are saved , called ,made righteous, spiritually seated in the heavenlies, that cannot be retracted, but you can choose to not walk by the spirit that is in us therefore make up your mind Gods Will his word or your will the flesh.

First one freedom believing God to meet your needs second one bondage driven by our old man nature.

Hello, it really doesn't matter what man thinks, but what God says, correct? So, if you believe and trust God then go with God's word. Here's the problem: people are falsely assuming they're 'saved' before they're even judged. It doesn't say in the Bible we're saved before we're judged, but after. The judgment is to determine salvation. So, you have many here claiming they can't lose their salvation. But that won't occur until after this life. So, they are taking verses that are for that and assuming they apply now. But read the Word closely, Paul said we can have assurance of salvation. Not that we're saved and can do whatever we want with no consequence. Paul said to run the race to get the prize. But people here are thinking he said 'you already have the prize, so don't run any race, and enjoy the world.' It says don't conform to the world.

Matthew 12:32 "...but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."

    Matthew 7:21-23

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,"

    Hebrews 6:4-6

James 2:14-26 "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead..."

James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

1 Peter 1:13 "...hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;"

    Romans 11

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Matthew 12:31-32

    Romans 14:12

1 Peter 1:5 - "...salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

1 Cor 9:24-27 "run the race", not the 'race was already won.'

    2 Peter 3:17

    Luke 8:5-18

    1 Timothy 4:1

    2 Peter 2:20-22

Adam, that is just how I believe also. You can have been saved and then not live by Gods commands and I truly believe you will not be in the same standings as you were before with God.
  • Jesse - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Dear Curious,

I believe in eternal security of the believer. I believe salvation CANNOT be lost. The entire salvation process from start to finish is all of God, not man. It is God who saves, and it is God who keeps a person saved. If salvation is dependent on man's work in order for man to keep himself saved, then are we really saved by and living under God's grace, or our own works?

What do you believe about salvation? If you are saved, do you believe you can lose yours? If so, what is it that would cause you to lose it?

So how would you explain Daniel Ch 12 V 2 please ?
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 2 years ago
Sister Sacha, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

In reading your past comments I know you think you are going to lay in the grave until the resurrection of the dead.

God's word says those born again (IN CHRIST, IN the book of LIFE) will never see death. You LIFE is IN CHRIST, Christ is IMMORTALITY.

You were RAISE with CHRIST (this is the first resurrection)

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he (you Sacha) that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION; on such the second death hath no power, but they (you Sacha) shall be priests of God, and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Luke 20:35 But they (you Sacha) which shall BE ACCOUNTED WORTHY (you Sacha are CHOSEN) to obtain that world (the same way and glory Christ always had with the Father in that world) and the resurrection (you Sacha and Christ died together and were raise together, Sacha in Christ and Christ in Sacha, made ONE) from the dead .....

Luke 20:36 Neither can they (you Sacha) DIE anymore: for they (you Sacha) are EQUAL to the angels (Christ is the angel of God); and are the children of God, being the children of the (you Sacha and Christ) RESURRECTION.

    God bless you!
  • English Sacha - In Reply - 2 years ago
Ok , thank you , I get what you are saying . That explains Matthew Ch 22 V 32 a bit more clear to me . Colossians Ch 2 V 12 becomes clearer also . I've always believed that the first ressurection occurs when Christ returns and the second at the end of his thousand year reign , the humans who have lived through that period will be ressurected and judged and then the Kingdom delivered up to God Who Will Be All In All . I've always looked at the Old as a foreshadow of the New and felt that we are like the Israelites being delivered out of Egypt . They put the blood of the lamb on their doorposts and the destroying angel passed over their dwellings , we get sealed in our foreheads , and will be "saved" from the wrath of God when he pours out His judgements on the earth . Your post has definately added a new dimension to my readings and I will be keeping it in my mind as I read in future , thankyou very much .

There are 3 scriptures in the Bible naming China, Mid East and Northern Africa as plague origins. This means we have to deal with this. Plagues, Pestilence and Pandemics. The WHO has regularly tested new meds on African people. You can find those stories on google like I did.

I think cleanliness is the biggest defense. Do not buy any meat from China. We may have to buy meat from local butchers. Not Walmart. No sushi unless it's a local grower. Wash everything in water with a splash of bleach. It's not dangerous. They put it in tap water. Wash raw fruit, potatoes and other stuff. That has to be helpful? I do it.

All the Californians moved to Texas lol. They're in love with mexican food and barbecue. I'm cookin more now. Don't go out for dry hamburgers with no flavor. :(

MOST IMPORTANT: pray the Lords Prayer over meals and snacks. Give Him the Praise before we enjoy the meal.

I'm not persecuting other nationalities of people. We're all in the same boat.

Now we can rekindle cake and pie baking :D

    Jello cakes are fun.

I think our government is flexing its muscles and trying to browbeat us into being compliant..so we'll take the Mark later on. If they want to give a vaccine in the FOREHEAD OR ON THE RIGHT HAND: use two fingers for an eye poke, and leave. My faith is in God to get His kids through this. Maybe if we quit eating out, the price of food will go down?

Let's not let the government stampede us into "stocking up".

In the Book of Job, my Bible says God is in total control of the weather. Go listen to that Charles Capps video on THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER. God wants His children to stop acting like victims and orphans. Askfor the 20 inches of snow to go where the land is very very dry, and needs the water. Ask your Father for what you need. He is your Abba (your Daddy). He loves you tremendously. Give him all your concerns. Don't be stoic. My Daddy knows what I need.

Sister Sacha, the Old is a shadow of the New. Death PASSED OVER the house covered with the blood of the LAMB.

We are the HOUSE of the Lord ( Hebrews 3:6) and we are covered with the blood of the TRUE LAMB; therefore DEATH will also PASS OVER US.

Confusion comes when we don't understand the two resurrections and when they occur, the first and second death and when they occur, the two judgements and when they occur, the thousand year reign and when it will occur.

The answers are in Revelation, but the answers are SIGNIFIED ( Revelation 1:1).

    God bless you!

I'm reading all your comments to me very carefully and will keep them in mind as I continue to read my Bible . Thank you so much for your time and energy , I appreciate it . Keep posting please , your insight is very helpful . I like to be challenged and provoked , it gets me thinking and researching with more energy . It why I like this site . Sister Sacha, let this verse be you cornerstone in studying the scriptures.

    1 John 2:27
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 2 years ago
Sister Sacha, Christ has returned (like a thief in the night, you didn't see him), he came the second time in the form of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 9:27 An it is appointed to man (sinful flesh) once to die, (sinful flesh died with Christ on the Cross), but after this the judgement ( 1 Peter 4:17).

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once (first coming in the flesh) offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him he shall appear the second time (as the Holy Spirit) without sin UNTO SALVATION (victory over the grave and death).

    God bless you.
  • Gigi - In Reply - 2 years ago
Earl, it is a false teaching to say that Christ has already returned at a Pentecost. Paul was converted after Pentecost and e clearly taught that we all hold this Hope, the coming of Jesus again (in the way Jesus said he would return at the end of the age.) What you said is fantasy thinking.
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 2 years ago
Sister GiGI, Do you agree that Christ is the Holy Ghost, the Comforter, Spirit of Truth.

John 14:17 ....but you know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall BE IN YOU.

Jesus came the second time in the form of the Holy Ghost and it happened at Pentecost.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once (first coming) offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them who look for him shall he appear the second time (as the Holy Ghost) without sin unto salvation.

You never see the thief in the night, you never see the Holy Ghost. This is the reason so many miss his coming, they are looking for the physical. The culmination of the second coming will end with him and the elect standing in the flesh to judge the world. The AGE of GRACE will be over, and the AGE of JUDGEMENT will begin.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Earl,

I believe that God is a Trinity of One God in three Persons, Father, son, and Holy Spirit. Not as you are saying, which is "Oneness" doctrine that Jesus is the Father, and Jesus is the 'Son, and Jesus is the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures does not teach this. I tis false teaching.
  • Bro dan - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi Sister GiGi,

Great post! Many, many, many Christians struggle with this question. I will be the first to say I also struggle with this, because of reading/interpretion on various scripture related to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

I currently believe all three exist but they are ONE. God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Sprit, they makeup the Godhead.

Sounds simple, but it really isn't. I continue to ask the Holy Spirit fo guidence on this. Maybe none of us will know for sure until we recieve our final salvation.

    God Bless.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
Yep, God can be known through Jesus and the indwelling Spirit, but their is much about Him that is just a mystery. The Trinity is truly one of these mysteries that we believe because the Scripture tells us He is three Persons in One God, a Godhead, as you stated. In eternity, we will know more, but I don't ever think we will ever know all about Him. We are finite and He is infinite in every way. Praise to Him!

    Sister GiGI: SECOND COMING

Colossians 1:27 You whom God would make made known which is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world CANNOT receive because he seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall BE IN YOU.

These are God's words, if this is a reality to you then Christ has COME THE SECOND TIME; TO YOU.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many (first coming), and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time (as CHRIST IN YOU) (second coming) without sin (Christ's sacrifice covered our sin in his first coming) unto SALVATION.

Isaiah 27:12 It shall come to pass in that day (we are in that day), that the Lord shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall BE GATHERED ONE by ONE, O ye children if Israel (the elect are the TRUE children of Israel).

Matthew 24:40 One shall be taken, to be a Son of God, and never see death, and one shall be left, to die in their sins, lay in the grave, resurrected to flesh and judged in the fire of the Lord, not TORTURED IN PHYSICAL FIRE.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit." The Spirit is a separate Person of the Trinity, not Jesus. Jesus said that He, will come again in the way He ascended, on the clouds of heaven. He will be seen by all with natural eyes because He has a glorified, visible body.

I just cannot concur with your thinking of equating the sending of the Holy Spirit as the second coming of Jesus or that the Holy Spirit and Jesus are the same Person.
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 2 years ago
Sister GiGI, do you believe that Christ is in you. If SO, and you cannot now see him, then he has to be the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, or the Comforter, or the Spirit of Truth, these all are just being manifested in Christ. They are also manifested in you, because CHRIST IS IN YOU.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Earl,

You can read my posts to David and others to know what I believe. It seems to me that you are querying me in tis way to get me to admit something that either proves what you said or that you can argue back at me. I may be wrong in this. I will say this, with respect, that I enjoy reading your posts. They make me think and pray for God to show me what is true.

I do not hold to your method of interpreting Scripture, seeking hidden, prophetic, or symbolic meaning in so much of it. I think that that leads to twisting Scripture so easily. Also, when you add your interpretation within the verse in Parentheses, to me it represents an adding to Scripture that we are commanded not to do at the end of Revelation.

We may have to differ on this, but I know that you are a loving person, so I extend my love to you in Jesus' name.

Gigi Graciously if I may God is the giver who gave what he is spirit, it was given day of pentecost, when Jesus Christ

completed His mission and sat down at the right Hand throne of God. The Gift of Holy Spirit is in the Epistles known

as Christ in us the hope of Glory, it is a spiritual new man created in righteousness and Holiness, it is our God given

power to use the name of Jesus Christ to kick the enemies butt. We are to walk in the Faith of the new man which is

by making Gods word our Will in the renewed mind, of Course after Romans 10:9+10 from the mouth and in the heart.

    My understanding God Bless

  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
David, thank you for responding. Yes, the Holy Spirit lives in us, and if He does, then the Father and the Son do, too, as it was with Jesus. And yes, the holy Spirit creates in us a new nature, but the Spirit is not tis new nature. He is the creator of it. He cannot be both creator and what is created. So in that idea I disagree with you.
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Gigi With all due respect you may want to look at 2 Peter 1:4 we have been given the spiritual make up or essence of

    God. That's what it says.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
David, I definitely disagree with this interpretation of this verse. I consider it heresy.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
    Hi David,

I have been pondering a new response to you. I have been taught that God essence is all that He is; that He cannot be divided or cannot "part" out His essence. It belongs to Him and Him alone. To have God's essence, one would , by necessity, possess all of His essence, since it cannot be divided. Therefore, we would be all-knowing, all-powerful, infinitely eternal (past-future), all-sufficient, totally separate from all of creation, etc. all that makes God Himself. We never acquire this essence. We share it by association with Jesus. It is a privilege, and an amazing thing for us to have communion with God when before, we were apart from Him, now we are united, but we will always be human, in this life and the next, only in eternity we will be glorified human persons, as Jesus is. The difference between Jesus and us is that He is also divine, we are not and never will be divine. I stand on this orthodox teaching that has stood through the centuries.
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Hi Gigi I do think you have gravely misinterpreted what I was commenting on.
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Gigi Keeping this simple God is spirit we have been given the Gift of Holy Spirit Christ in us that by no means

in any way put us on his level, but we do have the ability to operate his abilities by way of His Gift. The way I view it

is when I'm inspired to do something I reach up into my Fathers cookie jar and ask can I or can't I its always yes or no,

its that simple because praying is asking. I sent this in case the other didn't go through. God Bless
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Gigi I heard a statement made years ago that really clicked, to be God inside minded Ephesians 5:1 to be followers of

God as dear children, so without the spirit and the word as our guide this would be impossible. When someone tells me

I'm led by the spirit or the spirit told me, I don't argue or debate but first does it line up with Gods Word and was it all

profitable also actions dictate source, in other words what are you showing me. Some people talk others display I want to be a display in other words manifested power.
  • GiGi again - In Reply - 2 years ago
    David,

    thank you for this reply.
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Gigi In regards to what we were talking about I will refine what I stated God is Spirit John 4:24, what we were

given on pentecost is what man lost in Genesis his spiritual connection with God when he sinned. Now I'm fully

aware that some believe that the soul is spirit and spirit is soul. That being said I read in Genesis 2:7 Lord God formed

man dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. In Genesis 3

when God said to man the day you eat of the tree thou shalt surely die he lost the most important part His Spiritual

connection with God. That is what was gotten back on pentecost when it became available to receive the Gift of Holy

therefore man again is a three part being. So I'm not at all saying we are perfect and have God inside us that's fallacy

and I notice someone else is buying that unfortunately. We were given freely His gift that we operate and the God

given enablements of that gift when walking in the faith of jesus Christ. Our biggest pain is the flesh so we have a

spiritual inner man who's there to help against the man of the flesh who's the antagonist. The battle is the mind, either

we walk on the word or we succumb to the flesh. Now the people who want argue this I have no time for but If someone

wants to reason I'm game. I was not raised with any religious belief system which I have found to be actually

beneficial because I had no preconceived ideology on what to believe about Gods Word. That being said I have done extensive studies for 45 years on what others have written and worked some of the original languages it was

translated from which is very enlightening to do. Because equally educated men have different beliefs on same subject matters. Again I believe what I believe, because in my life I have lost count of the

signs, miracles, and wonders that follow those that simply believe and act on It Is Written. God Bless
  • GiGi - In Reply - 2 years ago
David, thank you for clarifying. This is helpful. I do not have any problem with anything you stated in this post.

    God Bless
  • David - In Reply - 2 years ago
Gigi Thanks but the reality for me is it wouldn't have made a difference, I Know [ginosko by experience my God and

my Saviour] and what I operate and how it works so if some one else agrees that's fine if they don't so be it. To me

it's not what someone knows what do you show.
