    Dear Sir,

As per the scripture Joshua5:14 , Joshua worshiped angel, is it not correct as per Book of Law 10 commandments. But Joshua was treated as a leader and very close to god after Moses . Is the Angel is god or God came as an angel

The Angels desire to look into those things that live and move within the soul of man! This is how they glorify Him, exalting His kingdom through their praises! While we are His instruments on earth, they are the witnesses of the holy Spirit and its works within the soul of the believers! The same power Joshua had, is the power we have through the holy spirit!

Hi Prasanth Through out Gods word angels or messengers of God always came into concretion to benefit man, as was shared by Chris in eastern culture, [bible is an eastern thought book] people who believed treated these beings with great respect and admiration.

They are sent to serve and protect those who believe and those who God knows are going to believe. When the angel appeared to manoahs wife to announce the birth of a son she said it was a man of God that tells us what he looked like then manoah took it a step further he ask God what to do with the child. He didn't question or doubt what the wife saw or said remarkable, then God sent the angel again who gave great detail as to what to do.

God will never give someone a task without giving the resources or info to perform His Will if we're listening. Then after the angel gave details manoah set up an altar to give thanks and since the angels job was done he went back to heaven from the altar in the flame, wouldn't you like to have seen that then it says verse 22 manoah says to his wife we will surely die for we have seen god. I think this is where manoah in his absolute awe went oops we're going to die because given the whole story if doesn't fit. In the book of Acts when the prison doors were opened the angel nudged Peter half asleep and the message was go stand speak to the people the words of this life. The true Gods messengers are always there to deliver protect and defend.

Hello again brother Prasanth. This verse can seem confusing as one easily assumes that Joshua fell to the ground & worshipped the Captain of the Lord's hosts.

Now this is the way I understand it (& by no means it will gain majority agreement). Looking at the Hebrew of this verse, it would appear that both words, 'worship' & 'bow down' would apply here. Some translations, as the KJV, show it as 'worship', while others use 'bow down'. Ordinarily, this could be a problem as it implies two quite different meanings. But if we understand that the outward form of greeting to an aged or honourable person in those days was a 'bending over' (as one would do for royalty), we may appreciate this better. However, verse 14 states that "Joshua fell on his face to the earth" before the Captain of the Lord's hosts, which could give it a further expansion on the 'bowing down' - it was not just a bending over, but a falling prostrate before this angelic presence. So did Joshua worship this angel or did he fall before him giving him honour due to him, as one coming from God's Presence? And this presence is also seen in the angel's command for Joshua to remove his sandals for the ground was now holy. Why? It wasn't holy ground before this time or else Joshua would have shown more care. Maybe because the angel was present & came representing the Almighty.

Another interpretation that is often given, is that this event was a Christophany; i.e. the Angel of the Lord was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ. I think many would adhere to this understanding, though I remain cautious because of other Scriptures of the pre-incarnate Jesus, as God's Word. Not saying that's not impossible, but I would need more proofs. Trust this helps you.
