    Eve explained to Satan the serpent

    that God told her you shall not eat.

    Genesis 3:1,3

    According to Genesis 3:22-24, I would say that God spoke to neither of them about not eating from the Tree of Life. Because they disobeyed God by eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good & Evil, God drove them out of Eden & set guards against the Tree of Life.
