My son is 26 yrs old and he's on heroine. Myself and family members have been doing our best to get him help and to get him to admit that he has an addiction. He stayed in rehab one day and left. He's been to jail several times, steals from family and businesses. As his mother it's so heartbreaking. I pray to God everyday several times a day to hear my prayer for him to remove this demon from my son but to let His will to be done. I give my son over to God but I still worry about him when I haven't heard from him in a few days. I can't function right. It's so hard to go by when you know that your child is like that. You don't know if he's alive or not. Hungry. Where he's sleeping. Please pray for us. Especially him cause when he's good I can rest peacefully. Thank you so much. God bless

    Dear Trenisha,

The hard truth is--and I'm sure you know this--is the addict must want to seek help, but most of them refuse to even acknowledge they have a problem. And there's nothing you can do but pray. Mark 11:24 24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." It might not happen overnight or next week or next month or for years, but keep praying and never give up.

    1. Pray your son acknowledges his addiction and that he is hurting himself and others around them.

    2. Pray that they realize they are worth something and move on to live a gainful life.

    3. Pray for the desire to heal.

    4. Pray that they will seek help and get properly trained support.

    5. Pray that God gives them the strength to break the chains of addiction.

    6. That they pray for forgiveness for what they've done. And if they are not born-again, to take Jesus as their Savior.

Let me tell you about my baby sister. She started shooting up heroin and drinking beer while a young adult. She did this for years and years but managed to hide the heroin from our immediate family. After a while, she could no longer control herself. She flew into rages, jumped on people, hid out from the police for as long as she could when that was no longer possible she wailed, "Why me?" And then something happened. I personally don't know what. But God stripped her down to nothing. He may have sent someone to her. I don't know. But she quit the heroin and started serving Jesus. There be your son one day, I pray.

    Dear God,

I lift up Trenisha and her son and family to you and beg for you to please have mercy on her son. I ask for a protective angel to help him through this dark time to show him the light and guide him to the truth. I ask that he may have an opportunity to know you that he's given a clear way out and I pray to instill clarity in his thoughts that he may discern right from wrong and break the chains of this bondage and flee to safety. I pray he will return to a loving relationship with his family. I'm asking for a miracle, dear Father. Please heal this family in Jesus's name. Amen.
