According to the KJV: In Old Testament days, what chance did all the people have for going to Heaven when they died since they didn't have the shed blood of Jesus Christ yet?

Brother James, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

No one was SAVED in the Old Testament.

If they could have been made PERFECT; there was no need of Jesus coming and giving his life so we and those in the Old Testament could be made PERFECT.

The old testament saints were born again in the same manner of those after Jesus died on the cross which includes God putting the Holy Spirit within the person - Isaiah 63:11.

Dawn, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

The people in the Old Testament couldn't have eternal life upon the death of their flesh; they had to lay in the grave and wait for Christ resurrection.

The gospel was preached to them of that coming PROMISE (Christ in you, perfection, eternal life).

Those that DIED IN FAITH was rewarded with that promise when Christ was resurrected.

Hebrews 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the PROMISE.

Hebrews 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us (we would made perfect never seeing death), that they without should be made perfect.

Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

Matthew 27:53 And came out of the graves AFTER HIS RESURRECTION, and went into the Holy city (New Jerusalem), and were seen by many.

    Forest,

You are an eagled eyed scout! That is a fantastic example of how God gave the Holy Ghost before Jesus did. Amazing. Unless nay-sayers have equal and opposite scriptures to rebuff, this is the coolest treasure to come my way this week.

If you have any other Biblical insights, please share them.
