Does the KJV acknowledge two wives for Job? If so, where is the Biblical evidence of this? I have read Jewish commentary that his first wife was *not* the one who bore his ten children. I want to be accurate in a series of Bible challenges I am developing for my church, where the KJV is the only accepted version of the Bible.

    Thanks for your help!

Donna, In the KJV Bible, no scripture says Job's wife was killed. She tells him that he should curse God and die, this possibly showed her feelings of pity and concern for what has happened. The children were killed in one of the brother's house, not in Job's house. There are writings outside of the Bible telling Job had two wives and even gives their names whether true or not the KJV Bible does not tell us.

    God bless your work, Ron
  • Satan killed Jobs children with a storm - In Reply on Exodus 14 - 2 years ago
Read the Book of Job, slower. Make notes, is what I do.

Jobs first children were killed in a storm sent by Satan. He also influenced Jobs wife to tell Job to curse God and die. I believe Jobs wife met with the same death, as did Rebekah in the Genesis story when she planned for Jacob to receive the firstborn blessing. She ended up mumbling and then died later.

This is a good example why we should never curse others.

Jobs faith in God was strong despite all the things Satan threw at him. Well meaning "friends" that vexed his soul. A wife who cursed him.

He was rewarded for his faith. His 2nd wife bore Job more children. His first wife's children had all been killed.

    All his possessions were multiplied.
