What does the Bible say about being gay or bisexual? I heard from a friend that the Bible is against homosexuality but I'm not sure.

    Violet,

I agree with your friend. When you say "I'm not sure," are you saying that you're not sure your friend is telling you the truth, or, are you not sure that what you read in the bible about the subject is correct?

Whenever someone shares something with a believer concerning the bible, the believer has a responsibility to search the scriptures to see for themselves if what they are being told is true. Please know that I'm not trying to be rude. I am simply challenging you to search the scriptures for the truth. I can share scripture with you about what the bible teaches on homosexuality, but unless you search the scriptures for yourself, how are you going to know what I'm telling you is true? How do you even know if what your friend told you is true unless you search the scriptures?

I don't know if you read the bible or not, or if you do, how much you've read of it, but if you've not read it at all and need help finding specific verses on God's view of sexual immorality, I would be happy to share those with you. I'm sure others would be happy to help also.

    Violet,

In the Old Testament, homosexuality was condemned by God with the punishment of death.

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

This same thought is supported in the New Testament.

Rom 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
