    Marylin,

Isaiah the Prophet preached between 740 BC and 686 BC to both Judah, the southern kingdom and Israel, the northern kingdom. His message from God has two sides.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." Isa 1:18-20

God is willing and able to forgive their sin and give them blessings of plenty "IF ye be willing and obedient."

"BUT if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword"

    And that's exactly what happened.

The 10 northern tribes got devoured by Assyria in about 722 BC.

The 2 southern tribes got devoured by Babylon in about 606 BC.

"for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

    Don't mess with God!
