    1 : to beg for urgently or anxiously beseeched him to write while he was away- R. W. Hatch. 2 : to request earnestly : implore besought their protection.

    3: If you're begging for something but you want to sound formal and a little old-fashioned, say "I beseech you!" It really captures how urgent and desperate you are, yet perhaps saves a shred of your dignity. Beseech sounds a little like seek, which is appropriate. To beseech is to seek for something, or for permission.

    4: To beseech is to ask for something earnestly or desperately. An example of beseech is how you might ask your boss for a promotion at work. To ask for earnestly; solicit eagerly; beg for. To beg or implore.
