I read a verse in the King James Bible that I am unable to find. It was in the old testament. It referred to children having an angel watching over them, but I don't believe the word angel was used.

The only Scripture that comes to mind is found in Matthew 18:10, however, the reference to "little ones' here speaks about all people who come to God in humility & as "little children", that they inherit or enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

So Jesus' warning is that one should not "despise", or harm, one of these "children of the Kingdom", as "their angels always behold the Face of My Father which is in Heaven". This to me doesn't speak of guardian angels but of a legal environment whereby false accusations or pain that is given to God's people, doesn't go unnoticed by God: His angels bearing witness to these wicked actions of men. And from these verses, the idea has developed that every child has a guardian angel watching over them, when in fact angels are the ministers of God who go about fulfilling the Will of God, of which Will, representation & reporting on our behalf is made before God.
