Salvation is free so why do we have to live by strict rules

Our Salvation is paid for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross, and all we need to do is repent, and believe, (Faith) and live a Godly life, knowing that when we fail, and we all do, we need to ask for forgiveness in prayer on a daily basis, and also give thanks for all the blessing we also receive on a daily basis.

In Galatians, chapter 5 Paul explains the fruits of the flesh and the fruits of the Spirit, I pray this helps,

1 John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."

1 John Chapter 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

Galatians 5:16 "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."

17; "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,"

Galatians 5:23 "Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
