An "unknown tongue" is better translated as a "foreign language." Read the chapter with that in mind and you might realize that the turkey calling, mumbo jumbo or other unintelligible blathering that many call "speaking in tongues" is utter nonsense. God is not the author of confusion as verse 34 states.
