    Is being homosexual a sin

There are two aspects to consider. First, due to the fallen nature of mankind brought on us by Adam's sin, people have desires for many things that are outside God's will for our lives. We all have what we call a carnal sin nature, or the flesh. Different people have different fleshly desires. Simply to be tempted in our weakness is not sin.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. ( Romans 8:10-14)

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. ( James 1:12-16)

Our second consideration is the act itself:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. ( Leviticus 18:22)

This means the LORD finds it repulsive and those who engage in it have rejected God.
