    What role did Joseph play in the birth of Jesus? Did Joseph have children before he met Mary?

    No. he had no kids until after Jesus was born. Then he and Mary had more kids.

    Joseph was married to Mary but had NOTHING to do with the birth of Jesus. Joseph and Mary had no sex until after Jesus was born. God was Jesus's Father. The Holy Spirit of God inpegnated Mary. A virgin shall be with child.
