I was always under the impression that Peter was the first to believe Jesus was the Messiah/Son of God. (
Matthew 16:16
). Who is Nathanael and was he the first person to acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God/King of Israel? Thank you.

We can't really know who said it first because of the time issue between the 2 Chapters:
Matthew 16:16
. Peter
John 1:49
. Nathaniel
I think you made a good catch. The only problem is that Nathanel was not one of the 12 Disciples.
Comments anyone else?

Does it matter who was first? I was millions of years past the first and I don't care, as long as I was chose.

I was just trying to answer a question.
If you think about it, Nathanael got written into the Bible. That's a blessing.

Looks like Nathaniel became a witness of some kind.
