When you first enter this website you will see 2 SEARCH Boxes. One is empty and the other is set up so you can dial in your scripture.

If you want to read what scholars have explained about your scripture, you will need to touch your scripture to highlight it Yellow.

Scroll slowly downward until you see the COMMENTARY BOX.

Some commentary will explain in groups of scripture ie.1-5, 6-20, Etc

I use this a lot! If search can't find your particular verse, a box to search in Google will pop up. Scan the verses there and see if you see the scripture worded a little differently.

    *****

If the word you remember is in either Old Testament; or New Testament, you can select one, and the search engine will list them in order.

There many BIBLE study helps on here that you can use to widen your searches and help you find something Faster. Don't be afraid to try everything out and see what it does. Be adventurous :)

Keep paper and pencil next to you so you can look up verses in your Bible later; in Context.

In your Bible: (Not the website)

Use center of each page columns to (the little alphabet letters) to widen your study of each verse. They may pertain to history, or prophesies.

If you get lost, just back arrow or back out and come back in again.
  • Book of Joel 2 and Locust Invasion in Africa - In Reply on Malachi 3:2 - 3 years ago
One verse mentions about worldwide swarms of locusts. This is a piece of a news article from 2/14/2020:

The current swarms of locusts are the most serious outbreak in decades, affecting Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea and most recently, Tanzania and Uganda. The locusts could fly into South Sudan, a country whose population is already struggling with high levels of hunger. The swarms are extremely large, in North-Eastern Kenya, one swarm was measured to be 37 miles long and 25 miles wide.

The UN says that desert locusts are the most dangerous migratory pests because of their capacity to decimate crops, threatening food security and livelihoods. Swarms, which can contain 40-80 million locust adults, can consume crops in one day that would provide food for 35,000 people.

"The longer the outbreak continues, the higher the risk of famine goes up," Peter Smerdon of the World Food Program in East Africa tells TIME. "You need to knock them out before they start wreaking further havoc."

The latest locust swarms migrated from the Arabian peninsula, where cyclones in the deserts of Oman this fall created ideal breeding conditions. The swarms arrived on the African continent three months ago and have since grown in size and scope. The UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) has warned that the swarms could increase by 500 times come June, in light of rainy forecasts. [ Next paragraph indicates it may be from global weather changes]

if you go to the Commentary Box on this website, it will tell you what Wesley taught on this chapter in Joel.

It would be a study into history of locust swarms on earth. Joel's locusts seem to mention The Chaldeans.

I can't do a study like this quickly. Co to the Commentary Box ( below the 2 Search Boxes) and highlight the verses and read. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you place the Time on these events.
