The woman being Israel, Revelation 12:14 and the women was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

This could be America helping Israel, we are the only one that stands with Israel. America would not be part of the global system and would help Israel during the great tribulation. Pray for America and Israel.

Exodus 19:4 "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagle's wings, and brought you unto Myself."

God told Moses to tell the house of Jacob and the children of Israel this phrase.

I guess it is how God protected the people of Israel thru the entire journey to get away from the Egyptians. And that God will do the same thing when the people of Israel escape into the wilderness once again in the tribulation. God is going to prove to His people who He is by protecting them once again.

I don't believe the U.S. is mentioned in scripture.

And the women in Revelation is referring to the nation of Israel.

If America, and I'm not saying I disagree or agree....then why is America called a serpent? Why does GOD call America a "serpent". In the Bible, the term "serpent" is never used to mean "good" as in helping Israel but the opposite "bad". Did you forget the "serpent" suduced/tricked Eve?
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 12 - 3 years ago
I think that Gail is referring to the Eagle (& not the serpent) when alluding it to America.
  • Gail - In Reply on Revelation 12 - 3 years ago
Where in the Bible is America mentioned as a serpent
  • Curiosone - In Reply on Revelation 12 - 3 years ago
I'm making mention of the verse you commented on - Revelation 12:14 in this chapter. You said that it was America (could be (you say) - ((wings of an eagle) as America is represented as an eagle) that is taking care (nourished in the verse) Israel. But maybe what you don't see is the end of the verse I guess where it says - nourished........from the face of the serpent. So, the serpent is nourishing Israel and you implied America is nourishing Israel, so GOD is calling America a serpent that is nourishing Israel. Note also that America in this verse is called a wilderness. America is not the only country that has been represented by wings or an eagle - Rome, Persia....etc

    Curiosone, Revelation 12:14 KJV

    14. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness , into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

    The serpent is the Antichrist.
  • Curiosone - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
Ok, So the serpent (the Anti-Christ), nourishes (supports as you have said) Israel? Does that make sense? No. Or does it? Hmmm. Is America, the one that helps Israel, actually "Anti-Christ? Another thing, the woman is Israel, yes, but all 12 tribes as indicated by the 12 stars in verse 1 of this chapter. It says at the end of verse 14 that the woman is nourished from the serpent for a time, this is clear. I have a dog, and I nourish him daily from the food I give him I put in his bowel or from my table. Where do you get Anti-Christ from for that is no where in this chapter.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
It seems that "from the face of the serpent" is being understood as being nourished "by" the face of the serpent. Whereas, it should be understood as "away from (Gk. apo) the face of the serpent".
  • Gail E Brown - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
Curiosone, from the face of the serpent means from the srepents wrath You are not understanding what you are reading.

You are taking scriptures and twisting them around.

I do not argue God's word.

    Therefore I can't explain anymore.
  • Curiosone - In Reply on Revelation 12 - 3 years ago
Lol, What scriptures am I twisting around? I'm only reading it as it says and not adding anything too it, others do that (your adding -"from the serpents wrath"). Precept must be upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little. What you say only confuses things further - its been said that in the future - (last days), the "Anti-Christ" will appear, so since you say that the serpent in verse 14 is that "Anti-Christ", your placing this verse to happen in the future but wait...America is "nourishing" - funding Israel (the land mass) now so does that mean the "Anti-Christ" is here now? In other words, is America nourishing Israel from the serpents wrath now? How could that be if the serpent is not here yet? Smh

Lastly, we know that serpent and dragon are the same thing based on verse 12:9, so where does John pull this similitude from, the old testament Job 30:29 - I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls. Job, an Israelite, calls his brother a dragon...who was Jobs brother, Esau - Malachi 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness - GOD calls Esau "dragons of the wilderness". Notice here that the serpent or dragon as spoke of in the old testament refers to more than one and not one single man but many men or a nation such as Esau that was a man in the beginning but spawned a prominent birthright nation of people as God told Abraham and Sarah.

2 I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,

3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of venison stew. That's why God hated him.

I don't think Job was involved in this.

Lord I agree in Jesus holy name.

There are likely more than a few Christians who continue to believe that the return of the Lord will be sudden as well as His harvest.

Could the woman in the wilderness be the Bride keeping herself only unto Him?
  • Gail - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
The bride at this time is in every nation and the women with the stars is Israel, when the antichrist army invades Israel and destroys most of Israel at that time, some will run into the wilderness for the time of the rest of the great tribulation period. I'm thinking America "The two eagle wings" will help her and protect her.
  • Carleton - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
Good morning. Seems like for now that the second day of the week here in earth may continue to be a pull.

I understand that many believe the Lord will return to the earth again. I believe his work was 100% finished on the cross and that the harvest is imminent and the harvesters are few. The other thief on the cross wanted Jesus to save both of them from death by working a work in the world. Perhaps Judas Iscariot had the same erroneous thinking and false hope.

When the view of the harvest is from the perspective that I believe, politics of this earth are of the world.

    By Love.
  • Carleton - In Reply on Revelation 12:14 - 3 years ago
America because of Church and State mostly being kept separate thereby allowing citizenship separate from baptism has been a resting place for the Bride for times. The beautiful time and place where children could be raised to understand the call of the Lord in due time to His repentance and peace and then be properly baptized into the Bride. It seems that the wait for the return for the Lord has become to lengthy for many professing Christians. Non- resistance teachings have been buried in the coming together of Church and State in politics and then the promoting a future reign of Christ on earth instead of an in earth reign of Christ, which is now. The Bride will only keep herself unto Him in faithfulness no matter the world events natural or man-made.
