Tongues are a sign for the believer. Speaking in tongues edifies the SPIRIT (not your mind). and builds you up on your most holy faith. Your natural mind will not comprehend what you are saying. IF you Trust the Holy Spirit concerning tongues, and ASK the Holy Spirit to help you pray in the Spirit, He wills to impart this manifestation.

Most people don't receive because they don't know If it's a scorpion or the Holy Spirit. Learning about the Holy Spirit builds your bond of trust.

Hello, I don't believe that. Everyone has different gifts and most Christians don't speak in tongues from those I've met. I've seen young people try to do it from peer pressure, but was unauthentic and just jibberish just like it says here: 1 Corinthians 14:28. You can pray for the gift of the holy spirit. Some believe it comes as soon as you choose to follow Christ, others say when you pray later. Either way, I believe you know by your conscience. You can pray to know how to recognize it.
